RE: Anyone own a Warhead

1) Should be, it gets up around 280* F and more

2) I thought about that too, kinda hard to tell. I'll try screwing it all the way back down and start again.

It was just a fixed up original...

Well, here's the update on this.

After complaining to HS about them not sending me my parts, I got them to send everything back or replace what they don't send back.

So, they've sent me new...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Well, I got my replacement truck back today from HS. Its from their "scratch and dent" program. Overall, the truck looks clean and hardly used for the most part.

So should I be on the safe side...

Anyone know anything about this updated slipper clutch? How does it work with the three screws? Should you get this update with a metal spur gear?

RE: Help with adjusting shift point on WarHead

Son of a *****. I hope that's not what I have to do. I just finished putting it back together with a new spur gear and a tiger drive. The last thing I want to do is turn around and take all that...

Help with adjusting shift point on WarHead

Ok,

I've done this before but now the truck doesn't seem to allow me to adjust the shift point. Following the guide in the book, it says to turn the spur gear until you can see the shift hub....

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

*SIGH*

Ok, this is getting pretty damn frustrating. I've gone thru 3 spur gears now after I've installed my new OFNA 3-shoe cluth/flywheel/bell. The first time I guess I had too tight of a mesh...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Hey guys, which way does the indentation on the spur gear face? Does it face toward the front of the truck or toward the rear of the truck? When I took mine off to replace, I forgot to pay attention...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Holy crap...well, determine what 1 problem was with my clutch/tranny. Turns out that it was my forward/reverse servo. After doing some trouble shooting, I noticed that my for/rev servo was stuck in...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

With the bell off, the shoes are tucked in tight. The spring is outside the shoe.

But I'm thinking my tranny is bad. Looks like I'm gonna have to take that out...gonna be a *****. There's also...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Hmm, well, I'm thinking its the transmission now. If just spin the clutch bell in either direction, the spur gear just spins freely. With the truck upside down, the wheels don't spin.

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I was wondering about that, but its how to I give it time to loosen up if the truck won't even run with these springs.

I read that there are some "brass" colored springs that are softer. Maybe I...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Hey guys,

I installed the OFNA 3-shoe clutch (OFN10265) with the Ofna Hardened Clutch Bell and its very inconsistent.

When I accelerate, the truck just sits there and the engine revs up....

RE: Should I not run WOT with my WarHead???

I don't think that is what the article is saying. Its not saying that running at WOT across open areas after you tune your truck to run lean for a track is bad, it says that running like that even if...

RE: Should I not run WOT with my WarHead???

Pretty good. I just got my 3-shoe clutch/bell installed along with a failsafe, 5-cell receiver pack. My jb-weld with 24 gauge wire is holding up pretty good now, even after a few cart-wheels lol

RE: New warhead break-in. After 5th(last) tank question...

Ok, cool. That's exactly what I've been doing. I'd be running around, WOT here and there. WHen I check the temps and its up around 300, I would richen up the HSN about 1/8 of a turn or so and then...
