RE: Love that GBY

Can somebody do me a huge favor by digging up your manual and telling me the recommended CG? I'm getting mine back in flying condition and can't find the manual. Thanks! -Andy

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

Received my yellow bobcat today. I was very glad to see the anti-glare area in front of the canopy was grey... not green!

RE: Mini Funtana vs Accel Katana 35 ES - a comparison

Thanks for the comments!

I used the rear wing position. I was able to make it as tail heavy as I wanted, including so tail heavy it would climb to vertical when turned inverted, without moving...

RE: HiTec HS-56HD Feather Sub Micro Servo?

Lee, thanks for the reply! I will check out the CS-10's. The Mini Funtana recommends the JR 241's, which are slightly stronger than the HS-55's.

RE: Katana Profile ARF Servos

What about on the upcoming Katana 70 ARF? I have some Hitec HS-5475 "digital standard" servos that I'd like to use... but I had thought about a bigger servo on the rudder.

RE: HiTec HS-56HD Feather Sub Micro Servo?

Bump.

Any one using these servos? I'm looking at them for a E-Flite Mini Funtana. I've used lots of HS-55's, but wanted something a little stronger.

RE: Mini Funtana / Brushless

LVRCFlyer, thanks for the info! The only reason I got 23amps on my first attempt... because I was using a battery not capable of supplying any more than that (wouldn't hold voltage at that level......

RE: Mini Funtana / Brushless

You can use that Kontronics motor if you change out the gearbox. Look at the 28mm gearboxs from Todds Models or Cobri.

I already have a E-flite Park 400 that I intend to try in my...

RE: Flutter or prop tip speed.....

Let's see. Prop-diam * 3.14159 * rpm gives inches per minute. Divide that by 63360 (inches per mile), giving miles per minute... then multiply that by 60 to give MPH. So, a 16" prop spinning at...

RE: Flutter or prop tip speed.....

Take a look at this short video clip (1.5MB). Near the end, the prop starts ripping on the full throttle pass. Is this what you hear?

RE: Alfa Model Mig 15

I needed the 2150 pack for balance... and to better handle the amp draw of the motor. Mainly, I couldn't get the thing to balance with the 1550 packs. The park motors weigh more than your MPJet,...

RE: Slowly converting to electric... charger advice.

While the MkII will charge Lipos safely, it won't charge them fully. In fact, this charger was designed to charge Lithium-Ion packs, which have a nominal voltage of 3.6v instead of the 3.7v for...

RE: Alfa Model Mig 15

I agree with SwampFox and Woody... if you stick to the recommended power systems (or similar)... you don't need to make the mods to the wing that I did. I also recommend just one aileron servo if...

RE: Stuka Alf question...

Yes, that's the Flying Styro Stuka. Awesome cool scale detail, but a lot more work to assemble than most Alfa's. Thanks for posting the picture (and NICE JOB!).

RE: Stuka Alf question...

Alfa doesn't make a Stuka. If you are talking about the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8, then do a search on "ALFA FW-190". There are some pics and videos here on RCU and a huge thread over on the "other"...

RE: Speed Controller

Assuming you really mean you have a 2825/3643 motor (I don't see a 4825 listed), MPI recommends a 45amp ESC. Here are the specs:

RE: JR R610UL Receiver

I'm flying one. Seems much better than the old R610M, and a little lighter too. Over 25 flights in a FancyFoam Sukhoi SU-29, but I recently transfered it to my new toy... an Extreme Flight RC...
