Its really easy for small carb holes to get clogged up. I'd remove the needle valves, check the to ensure that the o-rings seal properly and soak the entire carb in a strong solvent overnight or two.

MDS .48 question

Anybody use the MDS .28? I'm thinking about putting them in a twin project. Are they user friendly and easy to adjust? If they are anything like the .58 and .68, i'll be happy.

One Fuel for Heli Engines, 2-strokes and 4-strokes?

Try S&W fuels. THeir airplane fuel all have 20% oil and their fuel is cheap to order, only 13 bucks gallon for 20/20 type fuel.

All of our recommendations are made on the assumption your fuel tank has no leaks, is not too far back from engine, is centered with your carb, and fuel tubing has no pinholes, and proper muffler...

Engine Fix

First of all, go to hobby store and buy an OS F or an Enya #3. Buy a brand new one and don't rely on any used/old plugs on your bench.

ALSO, buy a fresh gallon of 15% fuel or if you can get it...

Don't put servos in the tail because the airplane already is tail heavy. Even with a gas engine, I had to add lead to the nose (yuk).

I replaced factory landing gear with TNT landing gear...

Servos

You should be find with a 38 oz mini servo on each half. i'm using only 42 ounces for both halfs of an elevator wiht a .42 oz standard hitec servo.

Model airplane fuel (Glow Fuel) is made from alcohol, nitromethane, lubricant, and other agents.

Starting Fluid

Why not? Squirting a couple of drops into the carb is messy and will leave gas smell on your hands/clothes. Why mess with it? Starting fluid is very convenient and won't harm the engine one bit.

Doesn't sound you are getting your engine primed. Not having a choke doesn't help either. It may take you 10 quick flicks to prime engine. You should be able to feel the squishiness of engine...

Break in

Don't forget that you should start out with a fuel which contains a little castor until that ring seats. Omega 15% would be ideal and afterwards you can switch to Coolpower or another synthetic.
