All of the Ziroli planes fly very well including the P-38 . This P-38 just won the 2006 Scale Masters with Dennis Crooks version. One thing ,go with gas engines ie. G-38's or better for a reliable...

If you put on a prop extension to the G-62, that will move the engine deeper into the cowl leaving more room for the muffler and spark plug to be inside the cowl.

The Robart 1 1/2 scale wheel does come apart. It is split into halves. Just carve out the inside of both halves just enough to position the wheel collar in between . Slide on one side...

I have built 2 of these and both flew fine. One had a Quadra 42 and the other had a G-62 and honestly the Q-42 worked out better and was a better fit. just my 2 cents.

Ha ,my pup does all that and gives change and all with a G-23 and it has a plywood tailskid not that puny music wire thing of a skid. and every once in a while can take on a unsuspecting WWII...

I was glad to see you Sat at the Warbirds over Dane event. And to see you fly the SB2C. After seeing it at 2 mall shows, it now flies very well and well behaved and reliable.

First off the zenoah g-23 's are more than enough , and what Ziroli suggest. Of course the G-26 puts out almost what the G-38's do . Only time a bigger engine is needed is if you build the bigger...

You do know that BUSA had moved the cowl/engine/firewall forward to help with the balancing issue of all of their WWI birds! With that heavier engine you have , could move the fire wall and cowl...

you need to get a UPS-2 to replace your retract control valve! this valve controls it all, speed per side up or down ,gear doors movement, tailwheel speed .

Remember, high pitch or low pitch you need to get 7,200 RPM static on the ground .
Does your prop hub have the graduated marks on it , if so taking the prop off the engine will not be neccesary,...

No sand? Try greasing up the nose of the a/c and forcing in to plaster of paris , after dry the grease will allow the release from the plaster and then a dowel and lead will do the trick.
