Starting a Sig Senior - Ailerons?

Ailerons are useless on a Senior Kadet. It is not that type of airplane. It is probably the best pure trainer out there and it flys fine without ailerons. It is probably the best trainer you can...

mounting Hacker motor

Sierra Gold,
In essence it will be hanging in the breeze. I have installed it into an airplane with "cheek cowls" (my Doghouse eXtreme that I have scaled down to a park flyer electric size). I...

mounting Hacker motor

Just got a B20 Hacker motor. Seems to be a real challlenge to mount the thing. I know you can use the small screws that are provided to mount through a thin firewall, but what is the best way to...

Wood glue- giving it a shot

I have been using "Weldbond" for all my building for the last few years. It is an outstanding water based glue. It is advertised as a "Space age adhesive". It will bond plywood to balsa with no...

Hi,

Don't know where you went, but come out to Catalina R/C Moderlers. We won't laugh at you. We are on the west side of Tucson at Ina and the freeway (I-10). We fly every day.

Hi Guys,
Let me know how you like the Doghouse eXtremes with the 2 strokes in them. I have only seen a couple fly with them as all mine and everyone I built for others have had either Saito .91's...

Dog House or Dog House Extreme?

CHassan,
About 3/4" behind the spar is a good starting point. Move back from there as much as your thumbs will allow!!

Dog House or Dog House Extreme?

CHASSAN,
It sounds to me like someone modified a Doghouse. The ailerons appear to have a taper from the dimensions that you gave. The stock eXtreme is a no taper 3" aileron. The elevator on the...

Doghouse Extreme and a 2 Cycle Eng

Just read my last reply and should have proof read it first. Besides the typos I stated one thing wrong. The friend of mines eXtreme that I flew had an O.S. .61 in it.... not a .91 O.S. as I...

I'm back...Needless to say I have been reading this thread with great interest. I have to agree with Matlok and Wade completely. Having built 21 Doghouses or Doghouse eXtremes I have pretty well...

Doghouse Extreme and a 2 Cycle Eng

Critch,
A 2 stroke .51 to .60 engine will fly the Doghouse eXtreme fine but you won't get the all out 3D performance that the 4 stroke can give you. The larger 4 strokes are able to swing a larger...

white glue

Iron Cross,
It sands pretty easily. Not near as bad as the other stuff. Try a small bottle, you will like it. I have converted quit a few at our field to it and now they swear by it.

Saito or YS for Doghouse eX? Standard servos?

jc4me2
I'm just a hack flyer but I use 3004 BB servos on my eXtreme and only one on the elevator. It goes fine for me. I've never had a servo failure. I do use 4-40 push rods though. I wouldn't...

Saito or YS for Doghouse eX? Standard servos?

jc4me2, I agree with matlok about using a Saito .100 in your Doghouse eXtreme. The YS .91 is too heavy and more power than you need. All the originals used the Saito .91 in them and they performed...
