Shane, I have the H-9 P-47 same as you. The plane fliesfine as long as there is power; should the engine die I have to put it into a little dive and land. Hopefully close to the strip, or or better...

I found my plane to have a 5 degree positive wing incidence relative to the tail and changed it to about 1.5 degrees. This helped with the elevator probably the most but does make it a little faster...
