RE: NEW! Traxxas Rally VXL

Ken Block is pretty darn popular right now, especially with the younger generations. And while his videos may not typify the Gymkhana sport, it is true that his driving is done on Gymkhana style...

RE: NEW! Traxxas Rally VXL

We're all very excited here to have this new model hit the streets. Its driving experience is quite different than the typical drift scene is familiar with. It's something both veterans and...

RE: TRX 3.3 Break-in Method

Unfortunately, due to time constraints I'm unable to repeat most of what we already state in the engine manual. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I will state here Traxxas' stance. I would...

RE: TRX 3.3 Break-in Method

The Traxxas Method is a heat cycling method. If you follow our procedures correctly you'll achieve the best break in for your engine.

RE: Stampede xl-5 question...

That is actually above average runtime for a 3kmah pack. The motor does not use noticeably more power during the break in. The break in should only last for the first battery pack. Thanks for...

RE: Big bang in enigne and then this....

Unrelated to the OP's issue, here are a few interesting facts to store away:

A Traxxas piston cannot sieze to the sleeve. It is not possible from engine operation. It is possible for debris to...

RE: Big bang in enigne and then this....

I'm sure the original poster is an honest individual. My post referred to the hobbyist a few posts below his who suggested fabricating a story to try and take advantage of Traxxas' liberal repair...

RE: hpi engine on revo..

That engine won't fit. The Traxxas big block conversion is a race upgrade. They don't use pullstarters in racing- 99% of racers use bump boxes. On the other hand, if you use a bumpstarter you can...

RE: 3.3 only makes 1.06 hp?

What it all comes down to is that each company uses their own dyno to measure and advertise their engine's power output. Only third party testing done on a single dyno operated at identical...

RE: Revo TRX 3.3 blew up today!!! Recommend a BB (.28) for replacement???

I can narrow it down to many engines by specifying the following:

Engine will fit if:

-It is a generic Big block with:
-SG Crankshaft
-NON pull start (starter box ready)

It may...

RE: Yall were right eeek

The spur gear is intended to be the part that gets replaced if something "goes wrong". If you replace it will a steel version, you lose that "circuit breaker" function, and you'll just end up...

RE: Revo TRX 3.3 blew up today!!! Recommend a BB (.28) for replacement???

A gallon isn't a small amount of fuel for the drivetrain, parts will wear in that amount of time. Granted, with that much power parts like drive yokes and diff gears will wear out more quickly, but...

RE: What gear is stripped here?

It looks like the reverse output gear. Part #5395 includes that gear, the forward gear, and the drive dog or $9. Or if you rarely use reverse, for just under $13 you can pick up a 5394X FOC.

RE: Revo TRX 3.3 blew up today!!! Recommend a BB (.28) for replacement???

If that's the case, their owners may want to perform better maintenance and setup on the drivetrain. ;) Just for grins, I put an RB 928 on my Revo using our BB conversion. It handled the power like...
