Determining Static Thrust ?

I am building a plane to be powered by a Saito 180. This plane will not be fast, but rate of climb is important. I know that static thrust is best when using a low pitch, large diameter prop. In...

Saito 180 fuel tank?

I just got a Saito 180 that I plan to put in large sport plane. A typical flight would be about 10 minutes at reduced throttle with occasional use of full throttle. I have no idea of what the fuel...

RE: which jet should i buy that's below $200?

I bought a Saab Draken EDF from Easytiger.com about a year ago for $159 and love it, fast and easy to fly. All I needed to add was a Rx and a 3S 1300mah Lipo and she was ready to go. Lots of fun.

RE: Any jet pilots around Minneapolis, MN?

There is a turbine CD at Tri Valley, and I think it is Cal Branton if I remember correctly. I can find out for sure if you are interested.

I am getting my Facet, Cyclone, and Rafale ready for...

Kerry Sterner Service

In early December of last year I sent an order to Mr. Sterner for a Facet 2300 Fuselage kit and some other parts so I could rebuild my Facet. All the parts I ordered, and paid for, were "in stock"...

RE: RAM 750 Question

I found out the hard way what happens if you turn off the propane too soon - a hot start with several feet of flames coming out the engine. Luckily the fire extinguisher was at hand.

RE: Ram turbines

Every transaction I have had with Carlos has been excellent. If he were not around, my old Rams would have been paperweights long ago.

RE: 'Valkyrie' Sports Jet - Released

I don't think the price is out of line for a wooden jet. My Facet kit cost me, I think, $450, and there was a LOT of wood to buy and parts to make. Good plane, a lot of work.

RE: MOVE FLORIDA JETS???

I have been to all but two Florida Jets since the beginning, and have enjoyed them all. Frank can't control the weather, and if you don't like his sense of humor, stay away from the banquet.

RE: Jet Pilot skill level?

I did not find it hard to transition to jets, maybe because I started out with DF jets which are simpler and generally not as fast as turbines. So I don't think that flying a jet is all that hard,...

As for Mr. Sterner, as a Facet builder I have had some contact with him which went in a satisfactor manner, though it was a couple of years ago. Maybe things have changed.
