RE: increasing compression on Saito 4S..!?

Good to see canardlover keeping us updated. I haven't really flown anything in a few years. Finances got real tough so I had to sell all my R/C equipment. I am now about to start rebuilding and...

RE: Nomadio FULL Range 2.4Ghz aircraft radio

I have to agree wtih onewasp. While I certainly like the ability to get the information and have it available, I definitely do not need it while flying. The only thing I'd really like is a fuel and...

Solartex weight

I'm thinking of recovering a plane in Solartex. It's a .60-size (59" WS) 3d plane, so weight is everything. I need to know how much heavier Solartex (or Worldtex) is than Ultracote. If I did this...

RE: Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk build

I am not aware of any silk, but there is some light fiberglass that is supplied. It's for joining the two wing halves.

RE: Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk build

By the way I think I still have the fiberglass cowl for it. I got it from Fiberglass Specialities. It's really well-made. If anyone is interested in it let me know. I think I paid about $55...

RE: Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk build

The wood quality was mediocre. The laser cutting was really accurate on some parts, and others failed to fit together properly at all. I'm not sure what the deal was. I ended up building three...

RE: FLITON EDGE 540 FREESTYLE they did it again

I use heatshrink tubing on my connections whenever it is convenient to do so. Even my Dean's connectors.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Sounds to me like you just have your idle set a bit too low. Did you have a particular reason for using onboard glow?

RE: Official RCU Fliton Inspire 60 build thread!

This is generally going to hold true for any glow engine, not just 4-strokes.

How rich are you running your engine?

RE: Engine Building

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

About time we've seen that engine actually mounted on a plane.

I wonder when it will be available for purchase in the US.

RE: FLITON EDGE 540 FREESTYLE they did it again

Who on earth told you the peak RPM is 8700? You really gotta at least glance at those threads I linked you to. As long as your static RPM is between 9k and 10k you're fine. That's the ideal...

RE: FLITON EDGE 540 FREESTYLE they did it again

I think it is a bad idea to break a 4-stroke in on any plane. That is a lot of vibration, and the Fliton products are not built to take it. I would highly recommend you pull the engine and break it...
