Ok this may be a stupid question and a little off topic but when you bind the J-3 to your transmitter is the rudder on the rudder stick or the aileron stick. I was going to buy one but that thought...

computer radios do make the conversion easer Ive got a futaba 6 channel I bought a few years ago when I was trying to get back in the hobby then and all I had to do was change the spring and rachet...

Yeah I've always flown mode 1. My dad flew mode 1 and he taught me how to fly so I fly mode 1. Converting a transmitter is easy usually I just go in and switch the spring and the rachet mechanism...

yeah I just sprung for the bind and fly version and got a dx5E and switched it over myself I've tried to fly mode two and just can't I can handle a trainer ok but I mix my aleron and elevator too much

Can you change the supplied transmitter on the RTF version from mode 2 to mode 1?

My dad had a RCM Magnum 40 that would go 200 MPH plus back in the 80's as clocked by police radar. i might build me one of those one day and probably put my thunder tiger Pro 46 in it.
