Tuning receivers

With no disrespect intended, this sounds like one of those "if you have to ask ...." situations.

You need a stable RF signal source that's calibrated for frequency, output level and modulation...

It came with JR 507s which I'm still using in other airplanes.

Any current production servo will work, of course, with appropriate connectors.

I remember doing a bench test on this particular receiver and it blew the doors off a Futaba AM receiver. Much more sensitive and selective and considerably more...

Ditto what gotrain says, although mine was bought for me! I learned on it and so did my daughter and son.

I was flying it last week in their/my old Eagle 2 just for old times' sake. Worked great.

Thanks, everyone, for the comments. Certainly sounds like it's worth a try. The 4 Star certainly is a forgiving airplane to fly ... and I'm really looking for ward to seeing it with a little zippier...
