RE: DLE 55RA Vapor Lock

I had the same problem on a ZDZ 40RE. It would fly just fine for couple of minutes and slowly lose power and eventually die if not landed. At first I installed an air exit louver at the top of the...

RE: yeah, it's another what starter thread.

Same starter. The rubber insert is reverseable for smaller spinners. I would get the large cone in case of larger spinners later.

RE: yeah, it's another what starter thread.

I actually have the larger 6:1 ratio unit now. At the time it was available without the battery for around $100. I got it and added the 5 cell LiPo. I previously had the smaller one and sold it to...

RE: yeah, it's another what starter thread.

http://pacaeromodel.com/FieldEquipment/PowerPanel/PP.htm

The PAM-1002B will do what you want.

The 6:1 ratio will start a 150cc gasser. That is what I have now. I run it on a 5 cell LiPo...

RE: Saito FG57 Fourstroke

Webpage looks really good, Adrian. A few tweaks and it will be good to go.

We have had a rash of failed RCEXL ignitions this year and I have notified the guys that your ignitions are now...

RE: Saito FG57 Fourstroke

The ignitions are really looking good, Adrian. When do you plane to have the new website up and running?

RE: CDI gr8flyer55

Hi Adrian,
You may have told me about it but I don't recall. Way back when, we were using .82uF up to 1.2uF Metal Polyethylene Caps on some of the UAV ignitions to get the maximum energy transfer...

RE: CDI gr8flyer55

I have not been following this. Are you charging more than one Capacitor to get multiple sparks or using residual charge on the initial output Cap?

Guess I oughta read the whole thread.;)

RE: Engine ID help

It has been a long time but I likely used a film of Permatex Ultra Copper. I would look for a leak between the intake port surface and the carb also.

Unless it is a major leak I doubt that is...

RE: Engine ID help

I had a couple of these back in the day when they were the hot ticket. Mine were notorious for case leaks. Do a soap bubble test on the area where the case splits. Take the plug out and daub some...

RE: Engine ID help

From the case back it appears to be a 35cc Webra Bully. Originally it had a Webra ignition on it and the pickup wire has been cut off. It appears to have been modified (perhaps by C H Ignitions) to...

RE: ZDZ 40 stumbles

If this is the rear exhaust version you may be experiencing a vapor lock in the carb due to heat from the muffler. I had the same problem to the point of deadsticking until I installed an aluminum...

OS FT-300 mounting pattern

Does anyone have the engine mounting dimensions for the OS FT-300 twin? Also will need the dimension from the crankshaft centerline to the mounting pattern.

If you have this information please...

RE: Saito 180-150 conversion Kit

The Saito FG-36 has a bronze bushing on the crankshaft end of the rod. The others are unbushed and run aluminum on the steel crankpin. Saito now recommends 20:1 ratio and that is the mix I run.

RE: SMALL DISPLACEMENT FOUR STROKE GLOW TO GAS CONVERSION

Here is the key to unlock the four maps.

It amazes me that you remember all this stuff, Terry, I sure don't.;)

RE: engine baffleing

Pix are not really viewable but it looks like you have the spark plug excluded from cooling. It needs to see cooling air also.

RE: Sato FA 220 Converted to GAS?

I converted my FA 220A to gas. I would not recommend it and I would not do it again. Do a search on FG 36 problems (cutting out, sticking valves, etc.) They run great as a glow engine but have severe...

RE: HeliCoil for CM-6 spark plug

I took my DLE 55 head to a local Yamaha motorcycle shop and they installed a helicoil for $20. You might check local cycle shops first and save shipping costs and time.

Can anyone identify these items? I found them in my old parts box and don't remember them or have any documentation. They are identified as "Robart" items. Obviously they are fuel system items and I...

RE: ZDZ Engine Mount Templates (60-RV & Super 80J

Here is one for the Super 80 in .pdf format. The carb must be removed and re-installed after the engine is mounted. Otherwise you will have a really, really large hole in the mounting plate to clear...

RE: Open letter to Xu Liang (RC EXL) ignitions

The Kingspark ( http://www.kingtekchina.com/products ) unit is relatively small but filling the case with potting compound really causes an unnecessary weight penalty.

I don't know anything...
