RE: Stupid question, I'm sure.

RE: Stupid question, I'm sure.

It looks like I'm gonna have to break down and get an inexpensive charger that does it all sooner or later.

Supposedly the ESC on this plane shuts the motor down when the batteries get too low,...

RE: Stupid question, I'm sure.

Great, thanks for the help!

I guess I will just stick with the set up that it has now, hopefully it just needs more of a push when hand launching it.

I couldn't find any info on this thing...

RE: Do any planes still use NiCad's?

That I can't tell you. I know the plane hasn't been flown in a few years. I charged the battery and tested it, and it got all green lights on my cheapo charger/tester. The only marking on the pack...

RE: Stupid question, I'm sure.

Ok, thanks for the help. Now if I switch to NiMH, say a 7 or 8 cell pack, would that provide more power out of the 280 BB? Or would I also need a bigger motor for more power? The plane seemed like...

RE: Stupid question, I'm sure.

The pack thats in there now is an 8 cell NiCad, pretty heavy. If I just switched over to NiMH would I need to change ESC's? WOuld I need a new charger for a NiMH? I have a Hitec Multi...

Stupid question, I'm sure.

I'm new to electrics. That said, I have a NiCad set up in a plane, with a 280 brushed motor. Can I just switch to NiMH, or LiPo batteries?

I'm sure its not that easy, so what else would I have...

RE: Do any planes still use NiCad's?

Its foam, with a little bit of balsa structure on the inside. I'm trying to do this on the cheap, my fiance doesn't understand that 1 plane is not enough for all occasions. I was hoping that this...

RE: Do any planes still use NiCad's?

Thanks a lot. I just got back into RC after being out of it for almost 10 years. I plan on joining the Pontiac Miniature Aircraft Club up in Highland this summer for my gas trainer.

I bought...

Do any planes still use NiCad's?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any plane still for sale that uses NiCad batteries. Seems like most are now LiPo or NiMH packs.

I just destroyed an old Sukhoi, and if the repairs don't work...

Repair suggestions - HELP!!!!!

A few days ago I picked up an old Simprop Sukhoi park flyer.

Well, I got it all charged up and balanced, and proceded to hand launch it right into the ground, twice.

On the second crash,...
