With big planes like those, they have the room and no worries with weight I would think you would want to run 3300mAh sub C so they can pull the amps on surface movements under load, all day...

Ive built a few packs from these, and have gotten ~2200mAh out of them @ .3a reliably.
They take a 1A charge ok (peak a little early, after ~2100 on my Triton)

They are $1.25 each, perfect...

You could teach how to take them out and put them in a wall charger ? You can get 2500mAh NiMH at Walmart and these would most likely last longer....

351 randomly flutters

In a sailplane (here), I have one aileron that randomly flutters and does not center. Then for no reason it goes away and centers great. While fluttering, putting pressure on the surface does nothing...

I dont think your charging your pack(s) fully. I use a 1650 in my TX, it peaks @12-11.9v and I can fly all day at 10.6v (TX JR8103). I use 2000mAh NiMH in my full house sailplanes, again I fly all...

You go full pedal, build up enough tension so its hard to hang on to the plane (and I mean a lot of tension), then throw it as hard as you can toward the turn around, still full pedal and *dont*...

Another solution is to have a plane that can take a full pedal launch, then you dont have to worry about it and oh what a zoom :)

under a 250mA load, I have seen 1183mAh before the discharger shut off @ 1.1v per cell.

fyi: @10F another new 4 cell pack under a 250mA load shut off after 170mAh.
