RE: Gaz powered tank??

I recall seeing several gas powered 1/6 scale tanks over the past several years.

One guy offered a full metal 1/6 M5 Stuart, but I'm not sure if he's still selling those.

It would seem that...

RE: Please see my steel tracks of 1/8

Very nice work!

Would you consider making them for the 21st Century 1/6 M5 Stuart?

I spray painted my aluminum tracks with Rustoleom brown primer and let nature do the rest.

RE: Ever thrown a track?

Patton: Thanks for sharing the photos-- they're really cool. It looks like you and your friends have a real hoot in that Weasel. Is is hard to maintain?

RE: Ever thrown a track?

Patton:

Sounds like that was a lot of fun. Have you restored the Weasel? I'd like to see pictures of that.

DAP: I haven't heard anything lately about RCArmory's 1/6 Stug... have you?

RE: New motors for my 1/6th M5 stuart

Deathblade:

Here's an RCUniverse link to an earlier forum that talks about controllers. Briz gives some great advice.

RE: Ever thrown a track?

Man, that is a really awesome vehicle. I imagine you had lots of fun restoring. BTW, thanks for your service.

For anyone who might want my opinion about the larger scale tanks, I can recommend...

RE: Is this forum only for 1/16 scale now? no 1/8 or 1/6

Yeah, I'd love to see more 1/8, 1/6 owners showing what they're doing with their tanks.

By the way, just my opinion, but the 1/16 HL folks don't have a monopoly on problems. While HL may have...

RE: what do you think of this 1/8 full metal sherman m4a3

Yan and Vollenc: Thanks for the information on the 1/8 tanks from Tankmodel.com

Personally, I like the Sherman and other, older models -- they seem, like me, getting more and more ancient.

RE: Is this forum only for 1/16 scale now? no 1/8 or 1/6

Yan:

1. Thanks, I'll check the motor mounts to make sure they're still secure. But from the looks of it (quick inspection), they seem to be tight.

2. You're absolutely right about the...

RE: Snow and Tiger tanks = BAD?

All very good advice!

I need to "cold soak" mine for about 30 min before taking it through snow. Otherwise, the warmer tracks, road wheels, and esp the idlers, will melt the colder snow, then...

RE: Is this forum only for 1/16 scale now? no 1/8 or 1/6

Yan:

I'd like your opinion about the RC Armory products. I have one of their 1/8 scale KTs.

For the hull and turret, they use a lightweight 6mm thick gray PVC...

RE: Bullet hole tutorial

I fired BBs at miine from a distance of about 15 ft. to attain the .50 strikes.

For RPG near misses, I used a dremel tool with a conical tool.

(This is a 1/8 scale)

RE: YOUR AGE, WHAT TANKS YOU OWN, AND....

I'm like Yan: Owned various 1/24 and 1/16 HL but replaced with 1/8 scale (RC Armory -- not all metal but good reinforced materials, metal track, and some other metal parts, very high quality).

RE: what do you think of this 1/8 full metal sherman m4a3

Yan:

Can you tell us who manufacture's the tank?

How much did you pay for it?

What kind of motor(s) and ESC?

What powers it?

RE: Panther in the snow

This is great advice.

"Cold soak" or acclimate to the ambient temps is essential to good running at extreme temps.

RE: Panther in the snow

Here's an example of idlers that melted, then re-froze snow. I had taken the tank from room temp, drove it out of the workshop into 10F temps and a couple of feet of powder. There had been a bit of...

RE: Panther in the snow

Great looking Panther and just the right snow depth!

I love to take mine in snow. BUT, I've found that it helps to "cold soak" it about an hour prior so the tracks don't melt the snow, then...

RE: Stupid Question

Being from Las Vegas, you could take your money to the black jack tables, and, if you're lucky, return with enough to buy a 1/8th scale tank (around $2700 shipped from within USA).

If you're...
