RE: DAWG House RC - 87" YAK

I think that is only 50% of the full price. You will still have to pay another $275 when the plane comes. Quote from the site: "we are taking 50% deposits ($275.00 refundable)"

RE: Ultimate Engine Mounting

Just to keep this thread up to date with answers to my own questions. I found this information about why there is a nipple on the air pressure inlet. It seems its best to run a line from this back...

RE: Ultimate Engine Mounting

Ok, thanks. That is pretty much the information I had gotten on how to setup the tanks, but the pictures I was seeing were confusing me. So I will leave the muffler smoke tap open, connect up the...

Looking at these pictures from someone elses setup:

RE: Ultimate Engine Mounting

Ok, this is going to sound stupid, but this is my first gasser, and the intstructions are not very clear on the fuel hookups. So I am not sure what is what. Based on pictures of other installs on...

RE: Ultimate Engine Mounting

Thanks so far! I wasn't sure about the nuts, I will replace them. A guy in my club recommend spare urethane to fuel proof the engine compartment, and behind it. I was going to do that after...

Ultimate Engine Mounting

As I said in a different post this is my first gasser. So I am posting pics of my progress mounting the engine to help spot any problems before I go to far. Tonight I drilled the holes and bolted it...

nylon bolts for ultimate lower wing?

Simple question. I have in the past preferred to use nylon bolts in the wing instead of metal, just to give the thing a 'chance' to break out without ripping the wing mount or the wing to shreds. ...

RE: Help Decide. WH Ultimate: DA-50 vs EVO 58

I am sending those servos back. ServoCity says they will honor the 20% sale on the replacement servo's (what a great company), I would rather have something that will definetly work, then something...

RE: Help Decide. WH Ultimate: DA-50 vs EVO 58

FYI: I went with those karbonite gear servos per recomendations from Tom in one of his posts(see link below) since they are only going on the airlerons... which aren't that big of a control surface. ...

Help Decide. WH Ultimate: DA-50 vs EVO 58

Ok, I have read all the posts on these two engines I could find...and they basically have me thoroughly confused. Tom always emphasizes how sensitive the ultimate is to weight, but yet has a couple...

RE: Official M18 Xray Thread!

The screws that came with my m18 to mount the engine fit perfectly on the mamba motor. No need to use those large head screws that came with the motor.

RE: MagnumR dolly

I put the APC 8x8 prop on and shortened the header by 1 inch per directions. I leaned the engine out as much as I could on the ground, but upon launching it barley got off the dolly, not near as much...

RE: Magnum R balance point

If you read the manual that came with your west 50 engine, it clearly states to cut off 1 inch off the header pipe when putting on a 8x8 prop.

RE: MagnumR dolly

The dowels work much better. The problem with the pin is that it was too short, the tail of the plane would come up, and the plane would come off the pin before it was ready to fly. The pin was also...

RE: MagnumR dolly

Well, the dolly works, but barely. Its barely getting off, once it didn't, and the pin is scraping along the bottom of the fuse. I think I will try putting dowels in front of the wing, an cut out the...
