but in a boat low winds dont have enough torque, they will burn up, if you want to stay brushed move up to a 12volt 550 12t. if you want to go brushless, i would suggest this setup

no, wind is how many times the wire is wraped around the armature in the motor, Mah is battery capacity in milliamps, the higher the mah the longer the battery will last on a single charge

the number of winds and number of cells is what determines how fast the motor will spin and how much torque it will have.

higher winds more torque
low winds more speed

well if you want absolute speed theres motors spinning at 10,000 to 15,000kv but good luck using one in a boat, what kind of boat are you building?

the venom speedmeter wouldnt work, it works out speed by meausuring how many times a driveshaft spins and the distance traveled with one spin.

for it to work on a boat you would have to know how...

the setup was going to be twin kb45xls on 240's powered by 20nihms a piece. thats pushing it in terms of voltage.

yeah, i know, no matter what i do to cog or trim she still runs loose. it is a blast to drive. it's only flipped twice and once was a blowover

i finally got the videos of the challanger on the comp. check them out, their short but you get a apreciation for the speed.
