I believe the vr3 uses a 2.3mm shaft and a 48 metric pinion, I dont think it will mess correctly with the spur gear of the rc18.

I could be wrong though...

Go with the vr3... its 15.00 at Tower, you can't go wrong at that price. I'm sure a brushless would be faster but like you said $140.00...

It is a rocket with a vr3 and 2s lipo, thats what I run in mine.

A larger pinion will make it hotter...

Are you running in grass or something, if so it could be putting a heavy load on the motor causing it to heat up quickly.

The brushless motors are chewin the gpm gears up just like the stock ones, but I think they last a little longer...

I just checked ( I have both) they look like they will interchange, the holes on both are roughly 1.75 inches apart the mounting holes on the detta wing are a little bigger than the rc18 but its...

Good choice, I think the only thing needed for the MQ is CVD's and a better battery, but I would drive it 1st and see what you think.

If rc18 is an option then I would choose that over both of the others, and it does fine off-road IMO...

It really depends on you, I personally would get the mini because I don't like the hassle of nitro:D
