RE: Vertigo Performance Hex Drive Bell/Pinion (HPI Baja 5B/5T)

Pitch is the same as e.g. FG, so I guess also the same as HPI (but not sure because I do not have HPI).
MCD smallest gear is 19 (steel or plastic), next would be 23 (steel only)

RE: MCD Ultimate 4x4 MT vs FG Comp. 4x4 MT

The question was about an MCD Ultimate. That one has already ftted the tuning diffs(meaning: spiders inside).

RE: fs racing 4wd?

you are reading rcindependent?
I did that mod not because of problems with the standard brake on the MCD, but because of the open center diff that is mounted on the picture.

RE: Hurrax Truggy, bit of info

haven't had any problems with the diffs up to now. It is a complete alloy diff cage with steel gears. What you hear are the complete steel gears from the rest of the drivetrain

RE: Hurrax Truggy, bit of info

where does it say 'open center diff'?
I think it is the same as the Crypton: spool in center is standard, open diff as option part. I have driven the crypton with viscous diff in front and center,...

RE: 4WD Monster trucks

yes, there it shows a diff. But on that position (center) it is only optional. Standard is a spool in the center

RE: 4WD Monster trucks

The MCD comes stock with a spool in center, so it is true 4x4.

But you have the option to put in a 'open' center diff.

RE: Anyone drive the Hurrax Crypton yet?

RE: MCD Differential Question?

you can try the tuning diffs from MCD. Or buy the 2008 version standard diff, the pins now have 3mm instead of 2mm.

RE: MCD Race Runner

with that cover over the gears you may get problems with overheating (=melted gears) after longer runs on high speed ;)

RE: MCD plastic gears

I'm running steel together with the original plastic gears and it works fine. In the matter of stones come in between, only the plastic one ist hurt. :D
I once tried comletly steel on all four...

RE: MCD Race Runner

you are right, the plastic servo tray is flexing pretty much, but I will make that one on my own with slight changes in design.
