RE: Atchafalaya Basin RC Pattern Championships (Baton Rouge, LA) May 18-19

Day one is in the books. We had a great day, but one unfortunate mishap where Don Ramsey had a mid-air. I only listed Don's name because it was an ultra-rare solo mid-air.

RE: Atchafalaya Basin RC Pattern Championships (Baton Rouge, LA) May 18-19

Photos from Friday practice. From what I understand we should have a heck of an FAI contest this time including Brett Wickizer, Earl Haury, AC Glenn, Paul Villarubia, and even No-show Raiko Potter is...

RE: Atchafalaya Basin RC Pattern Championships (Baton Rouge, LA) May 18-19

I just want to add that we had a GREAT work day this past weekend trying to give our facility a little bit of a facelift by hauling off our junk lawnmowers and sheeting the exterior of our clubhouse....

RE: My beautiful new bird

Dean, I heard a rumor you wanted to move up to Masters with me so we can compete for last place!

RE: My beautiful new bird

No, that weight is as they came from the factory. I expect servos and linkage to add about 58g to each wing.

RE: My beautiful new bird

OK, I can't stop laughing at the "Pinky and the Brain" reference :D, but that is a very appropriate way to describe the looks of the forward canopy airplanes. Either that or a Beluga whale. This...

RE: My beautiful new bird

Glow version. Also, keep in mind the total weight listed includes generic hardware provided by the factory that most pattern pilots would never use on their airplanes, plus extra miscellaneous things...

My beautiful new bird

The Shindens are in, and they are spectacular! Included with every shinden is a parts list and the weight of EVERY major component. I double-checked the factory and with the exception of a gram or...

RE: New Berlin Texas Smokin Hole Challenge March 23,24 2013

Wish I could make it to this one, but my brother is getting married that weekend. Y'all still planning to have the fall contest too?

RE: AS3X receiver for Sportman at local contest?

Have you ever flown a well-trimmed airplane? What you describe here isn't far off of what a well-trimmed airplane does on its own.

What I'm still trying to understand in all this is: how is it...

RE: 1.40 Ltd or FZ

The backplate is the main external difference. The "L" will have mounting points for a YS engine mount, however the FZ-Sport also has this. The "L" will also have nipples for fuel line connection on...

Question about Blade CP Pro and Futaba Transmitter

I've had a Blade CP Pro sitting on a shelf for almost 3 years and when I finally decided to use it, the transmitter won't work. So I'm in the process of programming my Futaba 10C to control it. I...

RE: District 6 Contest 2013- no longer current

Speaking of the RC FlightDeck. Has anyone ever had success uploading a flyer? When I posted our contest on the site, I added the .pdf flyer, and it's not available. I checked to see if it was just...

RE: District 6 Contest 2013- no longer current

Chuck, as I said at your last contest, Baton Rouge is moving back to our traditional dates in May. Hopefully there's no conflicts, I'm checking with Clemmons right now for the exact dates.

RE: YS 61-AR vs. YS 61-R Crankshaft

The AR crankshaft has a ring on it. The R does not. I believe you can interchange them, and I think that was the main difference between the R and AR. However, if you have an AR crankshaft it's...

RE: NSRCA Proposed Bylaw Changes

I'm not going to get caught up in whatever it is you're trying to stir up, so I'll just not respond to you anymore other than to say: don't call me son. You haven't earned the right.

Sorry I...

RE: 2012 CAJUN NATS OCT 20th & 21st

I've gotta second what Mike said. Bryan is totally selfless when he gives of his time, knowledge, and even equipment. Only 2 competitions into this year I lost my beloved Patriot 3D (which Bryan had...

RE: 2012 CAJUN NATS OCT 20th & 21st

Earl had a mid-air with Allen Smith's Vanquish. Earl made a great save, safely landing his Axial with half his right wing panel cut off. Unfortunately Allen's was very badly damaged, and likely a...

RE: F3A Results - SPOILER

When I was judging the first round of F I actually saw this happen. Between pilots I noticed a bird come up from a patch of tall grass just off the edge of the runway. He was trying to fly into the...

RE: F3A Results - SPOILER

I used the term urinate, which is the correct term, as opposed to the crude term because I assumed the crude term would be filtered by RCU and I wanted to get my point across. To someone who is just...
