RE: DLE60 Twin

He also failed to mention how long between those 6 flights. Could have been 6 weeks to 6 months, the white crud is oxidation from storing with moisture in the fuel. May have been from contamination...

RE: DLE60 Twin

I'm curious to wether the debris was shrapnel or sludge? Either way I can not see how it can travel from inside the crankcase to the fuel inlet. It is physically impossible.

RE: DLE60 Twin

Was it metal from a ball bearing or bronze from a bushing? And it was inside the fuel side of the carb or the throttle bore?

RE: Hot Hots Plans Build Thread

Bill, I know you are using the RCM plan, but do you know if the MAN version is the same? I picked up a set of these since RCM seems to be defunct for the time being. Looking them over they appear...

RE: DLE60 Twin

The hard white substance is corrosion from the moisture in the fuel. It doesn't just happen over night, but from storing with fuel still in the carb. As the fuel evaporates the moisture is left and...

RE: Ultra Hots

From my experiences most of the Hots series build on the tail heavy side. I'm looking at a G62 with mag ignition to power mine. I'm thinking it may take a 5 lbs engine to balance.

RE: Ultra Hots

Ordered the plans for the Big Hots during the Father's Day sale at MAN and just ordered a short kit from Don at Eureka Aircraft. Putting together my list of balsa to see what I can procure locally...

RE: Kit bashing

Nothing in particular, I guess it is very similar to the .60 size? I've built one of those and as you said, it almost built itself. Do you think the airframe can handle fully sheeting the wing and...

Bigbird1, I'm interested in building a Big Chaos also. You wouldn't happen to have any pics of the kit before you start building?

RE: Pulsar Biplane Build

I'm really liking this renascence of classic planes! I remember very vividly the lime green Pulsar my dad built and flew when I was little. I'll have to see if I dig up some old picture of it. I...

RE: Kaos

I built a vintage Bridi Total Kaos from a kit my Pop had from many years ago. I kinda grew up with the Kaos, Ugly Stick, and Telemasters. It might be an oldy but its still a goody. The plane flys...

RE: Smallest gas engine in the smallest plane that can handle it???

I read a while ago about a fella that flew a U-Can-Do 60 with a RCS 140. He had nothing but praise for the engine and plane. I have a RCS 180 but the smallest thing I have had it on was an...

RE: Ultra Stick Lite Build Review!

It'll fly like a Stick!;) It will fly any way you want it to and as forgiving as your trainer. It wll probably fly and land slower than your trainer.

RE: Taylorcraft wing strutts

So, Ed you fly regularly with out the struts? I have always run them. Or at least one of them. Guess if the wing is under enough load to snap those puny little screws wouldn't hold it together.
