RE: video demo with Pentax s7

Thanks BB,

That is a storage shed and a little observatory. The roof slides open to reveal a 14" scope, saves my back a lot and only takes a minute to get ready for the night. That roof is...

video demo with Pentax s7

It's been a while since I have had a chance to tinker with the DF...work. The wind was gusting from 0 to 30 mph so that is my excuse for all the shaky flying :) This is a boring video just to test...

RE: Cut the plug off of the charger?

I like the idea of soldering on a deans connector but I have had a couple of gyro issues requiring the board be sent in to spectolutions - it would be a pain to undo whenever you have to send in the...

RE: Mega Glitch

I had a similar issue when I crossed over some power lines and started to bring the DF down (so the power lines were inbetween me and the DF) - it dropped like a rock - no damage, I just re-armed it...

RE: Dealing with DraganFly Innov - like wading through treacle/Syrup/sticky stuff?

Everything is subjective - I don't think DF is a bad company to deal with at all. While there are people posting in this thread that they have had issues - there are several posts in this forum...

RE: My first experience!

I have tried several colors - even glow in the dark and reflective (pretty cool at night with LEDS). I haven't found any paint that really works well or stands out enough. I am going to try colored...

RE: Smoking HD motor????

Check to see if your capacitor has a short against the metal motor housing (or any of the other connections for that matter). I had a smoking motor once due to this.

RE: Opinion on HD motor behavior...

2. The video was freaky at first take, I think the video frequency is matching the blade timing, from the video (shadows) I wouldn't expect the DF to fly at all if the blades were spinning that...

RE: Cautionary verse: Checketh thy T/I switch before thee taketh flight!

What happened? When your first got your DF you were shooting nice pics right away, it seems something is a miss with your DF again, maybe your gyros are gone?

I am still waiting for a good...

RE: Got my DF

Believe me, after a while you will not need the box of spare parts. I haven't needed to replace any parts except a few plastic screws for a while now. btw found a source for plastic screws - I...

RE: Custom Camera Mount

Perfect balance is key with the DF - anything off and you will have a bad experience regardless of weight.

RE: Power Loss

This has happened to me a few times. My issues were related to the capacitors making contact with the motor housing. It seemed to happen when the DF motors get warm and expand a bit making the...

RE: Blown Fuse

Never blown a fuse while flying, pretty scary I imagine. Good to hear your damage was limited, that is one of the main reasons I got a DF -after getting over the initial sticker price - very simple...

RE: DraganFly in the Snow

I agree, the DF does well in colder weather, longer flight times and the motors barely heat up. It has been way to cold here to fly but its warming up this week, it will be nice to get outside with...

RE: Custom Camera Mount

I think 4.5 oz plus the extra weight of the HD motors is too much. If you have the 2100 lipos you get more power but again suffer considerably from being able to compensate for situations where you...

RE: Flying Tricks?

Hey laceycopter,

I saved this link when I was digging around last week, this company is still selling them in the US. I don't know anything of the company just that they advertise here on RCU....

RE: Make your 2$ Landing Gear

I'm sorry, I quickly assumed the motor mounts... I understand now, the only concern would be to have it thin enough so that it doesn't interfere with the air flow.

RE: Selling Draganflyer 5Ti with extreme camera setup

Yes he did a nice packing job :D I now have a third addition in the hanger (well box in the corner), I was going to sell one of my DFVs but decided to modify it for special night flights. (I have...

RE: Make your 2$ Landing Gear

The problem with using foam attached to the motors is the heat so it should be heat resistant foam or it won't last long. You don't want to cover any motor vent holes. The nice thing about the...

RE: New Draganfly owner on board.

I agree, I think you should get the batteries instead. I purchased the connectors to make my own but never did. I don't think you'll be in training mode for too long.

RE: Is It worth it to Upgrade???

I have never flown the df3 but fly quite a bit indoors without Ti which I think would be the same. The few times I have flown with Ti outdoors (conditions permitting) it was like using cruise...
