RE: Twisting APC props

I hate to burst your bubble Jr., but we have NEVER made or sold a TT Pro .40 piston/cylinder assembly. HN made some for the TT 36 for control line stunt, but that's a different animal.

Where...

OS Hanno and 61 RF/SF piston/cylinders

I decided to do another batch of these as I've had quite a few requests lately. AAC piston/cylinder assemblies for OS 61 Hanno, SF and RF engines are once again available from Performance...

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

By the way, making a blanket statement about all the engines needing to be shimmed up is an error. It depends on many factors, and you cannot find out until you have run the engine and made the...

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

Barry, I'm not sure what the sweet spot is, but I'm sure we will see it this weekend. I would run the biggest prop the engine is happy with and go from there. If I can run an 8 pitch prop at PHX, I...

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

What do you mean limit? RPM? I've run the current ones at over 30K with no problems. I certainly wouldn't be comfortable with wood at that speed.

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

Barry, put an .003" shim under the head. The engine is over compressed and you'll burn it up if you continue running it this way.

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

Not an ignorant question, Stan, but these new engines are not the same configuration as the engines run in F3D. They are side exhaust, not rear, and don't run with full wave pipes like F3D. Henry...

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

Don't you guys know that the course has been shortened? We now fly with the honor(?) system. If you say you didn't cut then that's good enough for us!

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

No declaration necessary for new engines or modification to existing engines (and there have been many over the last twelve years, some increased power, some for longevity). If this were the case,...

RE: NEW NELSON Q-40

The engine is entirely different. The only common parts that it shares with the old engine are bearings, spinners/prop drives, and NV assemblies. The bore/stroke ratio makes it a true long stroke,...

I started shipping the new engine on Monday of this week. Henry Nelson and I have been fooling with this thing for over a year now and it's time to unleash it on Q40. I really didn't expect to have...

Once again, we are not making these for FSR's. Only for RF, SF, and Hanno Special. At present we are porting the liners.

Most of the parts have been sold. If you want to be on the list for...
