rudder question

Is it normal to have movement on the rudder shaft? I know left to right is normal.
Mine seems to be slack in the shaft ......does not fall out just seems shakey:(

I was going to use my two pickups from the rudder...

I was going to use my two pickups from the rudder one to one side of the exhaust manifold the other to the
Other side of the manifold and run two from the head out.....that should cool the engine...
