ive also noticed the 5100 is smoother compared to the 3900...
for indoor carpet id go with the 3900 geared tall and turned down epa
for a 10th scale dirt track id almost always go with the 5100

the vr3 is the best brushed motor out there for the detta, but overall the ammo3900 easily is a far better motor, faster, no heat, and still good drivability

tires depend on the type of track you are running on... for hard pack i like the stock tires, for loose dirt id use the square blocks

its a very good handling but slow car... heres a list of potenial problems
it dosent come with oil shocks
it dosent come with a nimh or nicad battery, it comes with a AA holder, it takes 6 AA...

yes it was lots of fun, some serious competition and all vendettas running lipos... i qualified 4th so i was pretty suprised i was able to take the lead in the last 4 or 5 laps and hang on to it.. 7...

get the 1200 yellow duratrax vendetta packs, or better yet get some 1400mah stick packs... buy at least 3 so you don't over use them in 1 day

thanks... the stock motor dosent do so bad either with a 19t pinion...i use a 16t with the vr3. you just gotta have a good battery and speed controller, and replace all the cheap wire and connectors...

i did for 1 battery when my car was setup for the dirt track... but i can only use about 40% of the permax on the carpet track... so right now im using the stock motor with 13/45 and 2s lipo

that video is cool...

ive been on a 1/18 carpet track lately and the vendettas and rc18's do really well..... racing starts friday so we will see how the MI, rc18 and vendetta do against...

believe it or not, but the duratrax upgrades are decent... the vr3 motor with a nice speed controller and nimh pack or lipo should be enough power, and the motors last pretty long, and are cheap

...
