RE: DA100 Idle problem - ideas?

It does it in the air and on the ground. I'll try richening it way up on the low end the next time I fly it.

RE: DA100 Idle problem - ideas?

I have cleaned and overhauled the carb recently. The screen is clean. Everything is tight. The crankcase halves are tight and the outside of the motor is dry.

I tried to remove the reed...

DA100 Idle problem - ideas?

Hi all,

My DA100 has started to act up at idle. When I chop the throttle, it will go to a low idle, then slowly speed up. It's gotten to be a real problem for IMAC. If I set the throttle trim...

Carden 40% Edge/DA150 sags in rolls

The title says it all. It originally had one of those gadgets that route the diaphram vent out in front of the air inlet. I removed that and moved the vent line inside the fuse, but the motor still...

RE: will my plane fit in any of the following?

Nothing beats a Chrysler/Dodge minivan with Stow n Go. I can get a 40% Edge (stabs removed), 1/3 Extra, full field gear, AND a passenger, in comfort.

RE: cleaning off your giant after flight

Goo Gone is great for the black oily exhaust residue you get on the underside.

RE: 2.4 problems or A123s or?

Hey Jake, I'd plug each of those servos one at a time into a different receiver with a known good Nicad battery straight into it. Then move it under load for a good while.

I find that the...

RE: Glitching ZDZ80

I'd swap the plug, then the whole ignition. When the ignitions go bad they start to throw out RF noise. You could waste a lot of time (like I did) chasing the problem when it's that simple.

RE: Cowl and canope anchors

For the canopy/hatch, I like the single-screw method with a small hole in the top rear of the canopy for a screwdriver. There are 2 dowels in the front of the hatch and a single 1/4" nylon screw...

RE: Proper Throttles on Gas Engines

All the gas motors I've bought had an arm on the carb. I just bolt on a ball link and it's ready to go.

RE: first gas plane

Get a design that you're comfortable with, similar to what you've been flying, but big enough for a small gas motor. You can get past the gas learning curve and fly a bigger plane without taking too...

RE: Winter Maintenance DA-50R

I'd run the gas out of it to keep the carb from gunking up. You could also put a bit of oil in the spark plug holes. That's pretty much standard winterizing.

RE: CH RCEXL Ignition

CH says not to run the RCXL on 6v. Mine has it written right on the ignition module.

RE: Proper proceedure for starting a DA 100?

I start my 100 and 150 the same way -- prop at 11 o'clock, ignition on, choke, 1/2 throttle, on the 3rd flip it starts and dies, then choke off, throttle just above idle, 5 flips or so and the beast...

RE: 2008 Basic Narrative

Bill, the short sequence you posted is AWESOME for practice - it really forced me to use the rudder without thinking about it - thanks! I'm going to drill on this one until it's intuitive.

RE: Need to set up a throttle/elevator mix on the 9Z

A lot of guys do it, it keeps the plane from pulling out of downlines. Someone PMd me with the proper setup.
