RE: 26% Carden Extra

I wish I could still get my hands on a 26% Carden Extra. It is still one of the best flying planes of this size I have ever flown. I have built 2 of them. Both were powered with a brison 2.4. (very...

RE: Servo Recommendations for a 26% Extra?

I have built 2 26% Caden Extra's. It has been some time (about 8-10 years), but I remeber using Futaba 9202's on the elevators and aileron's and a JR 4721 on the rudder. I know you said JR or Hitec,...

RE: So, what is the "right plug?"

My head hurts after reading all of that. I guess that is why I keep glow plugs simple. K&B1L. I have used that plug in everything from high nitro running control line Fox 35's to piped 60's up to...

RE: 9303 elevator trim

Never mind...I found it. I was trying to treat the issue like an 8103.

Thanks,

9303 elevator trim

It is probably in the manual somewhere, but I can't find it. I have a plane that has 2 elevator servos. I used program mix 5 to mix elevator and an Aux channel and set it to 100% up and down. The...

RE: RCX Illusion

OK...OK you guys convinced me. I just thought that I had some of this stuff in an E-flight Ultimate that I could move over. But it sounds like I just need to order it with the 20-22 and the Hacker...

RCX Illusion

I am looking for some opinions on a setup. I am still pretty new to electric, but not new to RC. The setup would be........

RCX Illusion
E-Flight 400 - 920 outrunner
Phoenix 10 ESC (already...

RE: Wild Hare Ultimate? servos?

I think the trend in the hobby these days is to make things more complicated than they need to be. There is no NEED, notice I said NEED and not WANT, for power distribution systems, or metal geared...

RE: Strongest Motor Box...

Is the motor box a traditional square ply box? If so, leave the box sides longer than they need to be. Install the firewall with your choice of epoxy. Pin it with dowels. Then put triangle stock, not...

RE: Setting up dual battery packs for two rx in one plane

I would do it (and have done it many times) like Budget said...

A switch, battery and receiver for the left aileron, left elevator and throttle. And another switch, battery and reciever for the...

RE: ROLL TO RIGHT ON POWER UP

Sounds to me like you have a twisted wing or wings. Just like pitch trim, it is only correct at one speed. I think what you are seeing is the ailerons are trimming out the warp at a given speed, but...

RE: Want information about CA models wide body 60

I THINK the 108 will be too much. I don't know what they weigh, but an OS 91 is more than enough power for the WB. Again, I can't comment on wing loading with a 108 since I don't know what the engine...

RE: Widebody 60 wing fix?

I used the cloth that came with the kit. It was cut in a football shape. When it was applied, the cloth is about 3 inches outside of the fuse at the high point of the wing. When applying the epoxy I...

RE: Engine Mount for a YS 110

Take a look at the Gator RC soft-n-safe engine mount. I have been using them for years, and really like them. Price is right also. I plane on using one with an OS 160 on my current project.

RE: Does OS FX .91 engine have enough power?

I use APC 14x8's and APC 15x6's on my OS 91fx. More than enough power to pull out of a hover in my 7 pound plane.

RE: Servos for WB 60

My WB 60 has JR 811's on all of the control surfaces. They are not coreless though. They are digital with a 3 pole motor. I like these servos in 60 to 90 size applications. Very precise! You can find...

RE: Carden Cap 232 posiable stab prob????

Don't worry if one is backward in the shucks. Quality kit manufactures will mark the shucks as top or bottom so that you know which side of the shuck is the flat...or the cut side of the solid foam...

RE: Why is there dihedral on smaller Cap's but not on the 1/3 scale?

Having scratch built many GP 40 size Cap's for mini-mac...I can tell you that most of the dihedral needs to come out. I don't remember the exact numbers. If you build it per the kit directions you...

RE: Slimline vs. Bisson mufflers

LuvBipes,

You are saying that the Bisson doesn't provide enough back pressure to run with out a pump? Since I will be running a pump...maybe that means that the Bisson is less restrictive. I...

RE: Slimline vs. Bisson mufflers

I will take a look at that. Thanks for the info. I just wonder if a muffler that big will have enough back pressure for the tank. Though, that might not be a problem since I am going to run a perry...

Slimline vs. Bisson mufflers

I am about to order an O.S. 160 fx for my next project, but I would like some opinions on Slimline and Bisson pitts style mufflers. I have used slimline's on smaller (.46) engines, but not larger...

Help me decide

I am trying to decide between the Hyde CapX or the QS 72" Yak. They both have features I like and dislike. I will probably use an O.S. 160fx for power. I have read the really long posts here on RCU...

RE: jr looong servo arms?

Mechanical advantage is a two way street. You WILL lose mechanical advantage if you move in on the control surface OR move out on the servo. To gain mechanical advantage you will need to move out on...
