RE: Need info from OS Wankel engine owner..

I have 3 of the later models and have been running them on 100% synthetic oil at a mix of about 20% without any major problems. I probably don't have as many hours on them as some people but have...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Well, not really.
Futaba radios have been out for some time now.....

Perhaps there is a compatibility problem with XPS and Futaba, but I sincerely doubt it is directly the fault of...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

This thread is going nowhere. What inquiring minds want to know is what TRANSMITTER was used with the XPS modules when the crashes happened. I have been following all the XPS threads and it appears...

RE: Which Aircraft Module System is Better, Spektrum or Xtremelink

I didn't order my XPS JR combo until the middle of June. Got it in five days. Been flying without a single glitch every chance I get. I will be converting everything in my fleet as soon as end pin...

RE: O.S. Wankel info?

I think the Wankel might be made better if one had access to a surface grinder and could polish the rotor and housing....AND shave a tad off the clearance between the rotor and the end plates. If...

RE: Would you still use Nicd for RX pack?

NICADS for me !! They are cheap (comparetivly) reliable and I have all the chargers, cyclers etc, plus I also understand them. A big investment in money and learning acquired over a long time.

Gold connectors

I thought all Hitec servos had gold connectors. I just purchased 6 HS-325HB servos and the connectors do not appear to be gold plated. I can not find any marking on the box, info in the catalog, or...

Keeping everything 2 inches away from the receiver ant is not the easiest.

I was very meticulous with my retro-fit but could find no way to keep my Xtreme...

RE: Very Lucky

I popped some Robart aileron hinges on Goldberg Ultimate ARF that has had a least three owners before me. It was a hard touch and go. Barely got back to the field without further damage. Try...

RE: My plane sank :( :(

LOL We fly off of an irrigation lake that is 6 feet deep at the max. Near shore it's hard to get the one man retrieving boat unstuck. Never had a plane sink completely out of sight although one...

RE: Astro-Hog Incidences ?

The plans call for +1 1/2 on the stab and +2 1/2 on the wing for a difference of +1. It took a pair of 1/4" blocks in the saddle to get from +4 down to +2 1/2, the stab is at +1 1/2 with the...

RE: Astro-Hog Incidences ?

Turning out to be tougher than I thought. A LOT of cutting and shimming to get it down to +3. So I'll probably stop at +2 1/2 anyway.

RE: G&P Sales PBY5A Catalina - 81" WS

WHAT HE SAID !!!!

Worst kit ever. Mine has never flown, I can't get the nose out of the water at the recommended CG. It would rather be a submarine. I'll try it again someday.

I would...

RE: Magnum Engines?

I have owned and operated several Magnum FS engines. I find that they are of inferior quality when compared to OS or Saito. The major problem is the carb adjustments. They are just too coarse. In...

RE: Need info from OS Wankel engine owner..

My experience suggests Wankels don't lose their seals they lose the springs that keep the seals tight. The leaf springs are not expensive or hard to replace. Run any fuel you like, at least 20% oil...

RE: Have you ever experienced total servo failure without warning?

I've had three out of the box failures lately. Servos that wouldn't work on the bench before any installation. Not good.[sm=48_48.gif]

RE: NEW EXTREMEME LINK THREAD!!!

It's supposed to be above the range of any normal interference. So spark plugs, metal to metal contact, and other noise won't affect it. At least that's what they say. However, the instructions...

RE: Any simple way to check a tach's accuracy.

It was actually noticed in the oilfield in the 1980's. As rod pumped wells were converted from gas engines to electric prime movers using 3 phase power. It was assumed that the measured strokes per...

RE: Any simple way to check a tach's accuracy.

The US Standard of 60 hz is a target not an exact frequency. I have seen consumer power frequency dip as low as 57 and go as high as 62 hz. So just because your tach doesn't read EXACTLY 3600 when...
