I had the same problem with the Xtreme turnbuckel set. Other people have also complained that the ball connector is too large for the ball. Simply use the links that come with the original control...

I think he doesn't like mounting on top is a good idea is if in a crash a blade hits the gyro.

I just found a web store that sells the Anti Rotation Bracket Spacer - # HS1232 for $3.99. ReadyHeli.com. Never delt with them, might give them a try;).
