A thermostat is going to do no good when you plug it in, set it at its LOWEST TEMP (around 130+ deg's) and it still melts the part that holds the shoe to the iron. So maybe you need to read my post...

So far I have had no problems with Monokote on this project. I did use coverite Balsarite for film for the first for me.

250 deg's is what the instructions suggest to use (Monokote). The sock turned dirty looking brown immediately and started to smoke...lol.
