RE: The Next Step

I should have been more clear. IMHO, mia parts are really expensive and they seem to add additional and unnecessary weight.

The with the tail boom extention, you basically buy a 2mm cf rod...

RE: The Next Step

You should be fine with a cp helicopter; i never thought the beginner helis were particularly useful. That said, the only cp helicopter within your range seems to be the mcpx or the blade SR. ...

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

Glad you like the helicopter. From what I'm reading, your left stick controls the throttle and the right left yaw? Which means it tilts the helicopter?

And the right stick controls the forward...

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

If your looking at the Blade 450, i think that is like 400 new RTF. i'm not completely sure though. I heard its good, like a lot better than the blade 400.

You mentioned that you thought...

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

Whao.. i didn't realize you meant a raptor 30 when you said 6ch haha. I was thinking more along the lines of a nice trex 450 or one of those blade 450s. If you have a lot of experience with RC and...

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

By the way, what kind of heli were you looking at?

And yes, the coaxial helicopter will prepare you a little. It will teach you the basic orientations.

But you need to be careful not...

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

You are right, the controls are the same but in terms of the flight characteristics its dramatically different.

When you get your 6Ch CP heli, its going to be very difficult to fly. I'd say,...

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

RE: trex 700e 3g

Thats great you got a large heli! I started off on like the 450 sized ones and i got a 600 a while back and i'm still scared to fly that thing. I'd imagine that if you are starting out with a 700,...

RE: first try at lift off

Its normal. The heli will never hover still. Generally, they tend to drift to the left becuase of the tail. You counter it by using small movements on the right stick.

RE: Starting out.. Have I made a good choice?

I don't mean to go against the common view here, but frankly, the one you have purchased is more of a toy than a hobby grade heli. If you are intending to seriously get into this hobby, i'd pick up...

RE: trex models

So with the 450, you have the pro, and then theres the older ones like the v2 etc... get the pro. Much better. It has a shaft tail and its really stable and crisp when you want it to be.

RE: blade SR....truth?

The belt drive system IMHO seems to be a bit pricey. From what I have heard, you have to throw in another hundred dollars to get an SR that still functions at a lower level than the 450 or even the...
