RE: best way to press on pinion

Homeunit, you may want to spend $3 on a C-Clamp ( Harbor Freight Tools) and $10 on a pinion puller. ( I can't remember where I bought that one.) They are good to have around.

RE: esky dule conversion crystals???

You can either change the crystal in the transmitter to match 72.050 or change the crystal in the receiver to match 72.210. When you buy a crystal for a receiver, you have to know if your receiver is...

RE: best way to press on pinion

I have installed press-on pinions using a c-clamp. You have to make sure that you are supporting the rear of the shaft as you press the pinion on the front of the shaft. If you do not, you can press...

RE: Installation of a Esky 3900 motor with a 10 tooth pinion.

I too use a 30A ESC and left the cover on. I have a few helis and haven't ever removed the plastic wrap on any ESC. I think it provides a bit of protection to the ESC, certainly against shorts.

RE: Installation of a Esky 3900 motor with a 10 tooth pinion.

I am no great expert or anything, but I just widened up the slot enough to fit my 10 tooth pinion through ( very little widening was done ... an exacto knife was used) I used some short screws I had...

RE: HBK2 tail servo

I read all the time about Esky servos being bad. I have a couple of HBK2's. I did have one servo go bad on one of the HBK's after 1 flight. It must have been a factory defect. I bought another Esky...

RE: New Feathering Shaft Install

I agree with Druss that it is very difficult to get the nuts on evenly, but I have had success using two 5.5mm socket drivers. It takes a little technique and luck. If you get it too uneven, one of...

RE: New Feathering Shaft Install

Thats what I do.. I tighten the nuts down evenly on both sides to snug and then back it off just enough to allow the blade holders to rotate freely.

RE: Help FIRST HBK2 Crash

In a pinch, you can straighten a feathering shaft as well. I straightened one about 4 times before I replaced it when I was learning to fly.. ( well, I am still learning to fly.. I just don't crash...

RE: Need help please

What crystals did you use? Not all crystals are alike.. Some are for dual conversion and others for single conversion receivers.. I bought Esky crystals for my extra Esky receivers. I can't remember...

RE: esc question

That's covered in another thread on this site, but if they are too long, they will be rubbing on the rotor/stator whatever it is called on a outrunner.

RE: esc question

You have to check each individual cell on the balance connector. If your pack is way out of balance you may have a low cell... Did you say you experience this with different batteries? If so, my vote...

RE: ith 2 pags

I agree with bkind completely... If you don't mind though, can you explain the board thing that caused the wobble. I can't quite picture it in my mind's eye... Thanks..

RE: ith 2 pags

I am not sure I am understanding that. If they fall to pitch totally up, it should be on one blade while the other blade is pitch totally down. I can do THAT to my heli by setting one of the blades...

RE: esc question

It sounds like your esc is hitting a low cell cutoff and going into a lower power mode, which warns the flyer to land so as not to toast the lipo. Some ESC's allow you to reset the low cell cutoff...

RE: ith 2 pags

Wow! If it got more violent when spooling up then you've got me stumped it the heli was fine before and just sat there. It sounds like a bent feathering shaft or blades that are badly out of balance....

RE: drifting tail

If it wasn't drifting before, when it was wagging, you may have turned the gyro sensitivity down too much. Turn it back up a bit at a time until it starts to wag, then turn it back down a small...

RE: ith 2 pags

When you spool up all the way and look at the spinning blades in the same plane as the blades, how are they tracking? If they are tracking together in the same plane then you might just loosen up the...

RE: Futaba 6EXHP or Wfly 6, Wfly 9

I fly with the Futaba 6EXH and like the radio. I have no experience with the WFLY radios. I looked at the specs, so my response is simply from what I read. The Wfly 6 radio does not appear to be a...

RE: esc question

I don't know if your ESC has a thermal cutoff or not. It is strange it exhibits the anomoly in one room of your house, but not another. It does sound like the ESC is cutting the voltage off either...
