Berrick, I used a piece of brass rod and epoxied it in place. If i did it again i would use machine screws with nut inside so i could remove the doors from cylinders. as it is hard to get to bottom...

Oh ya one more good thing about the fiberglass specialties cowl is that you can see through it to make cut outs and install mounting screws.

Berrick if you are talking about the gear doors inner plastic mine wound up in the trash the gear mount on the inside last screw would have to be cut out at an angle and across from it the rib would...

good evening everyone so i feel better today i mounted the engine 8 1/8 and i'm going to let the cowl go past the firewall and blend it in. whent back to hobby shop this afternoon boy those hundreds...

Ok so i read the arf manuel on line it sayto mount the engine 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 then line up the checkered marks and leave an 1/8 to 3/16 gap at the back of the spinner wich means this one is designed...

OK ALL HANDS ON DECK
I dont know what to think but there is no way i can cut this cowl down and make it perfect. but i do know that if anyone is using the wood top cowl they should make it 7 7/8...

well i have measured and measured the book was right at the 7 7/8 in or they redesigned the plastic cowl to match the book . If you measure the plans though the cowl is 8 inches but mine only...

ok so if my cowl is 8 1/2 then then i would assume i need an 1/8 clearance so 8 3/8 inches should be right for this one.
and jan i think instructions are wrong even with the 8 1/8 in. the plastic...
