RE: Last electric flight

I am sorry for your loss and I'm sure you will miss his friendship, but how can you even think about donating a kidney to someone who throws their life away like this??

just curious.

RE: Super Cub problem

If the rudder was originally centered ok with the rudder trim adj. mid point BEFORE the crash, then this can indicate a bent push rod or the rudder servo has come loose inside the fuse, or some other...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

It's a surface mount diode. There are many kinds of them. You can replace it with a more common discrete diode that has leads out the sides such as an IN4005. I believe the 'band' marking on the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

The XPORT devices such as the drop module (I'm sure the combat module is the same) basically take that raw PPM rx signal available at that connector and DC rectify it to convert it to a DC level...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Beaven,

Sounds like you had a nose-in crash? Check the prop shaft to make sure it did not get bent. As well, inspect the motor mount in the gear box to make sure one of its mounting screws did...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Carlos,

I have flown the Cub with the stock electronics for almost a year now and never had an issue with the RX except for the lipo jumper coming off in a crash. Of course the electronics...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

BTW Clint, were you ever able to source a crystal for a HZ Rx? You said you were going to contact HZ about those FM crystals on their website about 2 months ago.

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

If that's true about the FET and diode heat causing the solder to go soft, one good way to improve reliablity there would be to re-solder those with a silver solder or something with a much higher...

RE: Typhoon 3D won't respond after crash

The crystal in your RX may be toast. With the shock of a bad crash, they can go bad. It could also be a bad connection on the crystal. Try checking servo movement while at the same time applying...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

That will happen sometimes if there is a signal null caused by the TX antenna orientation with respect to the receiver's antenna at a particular distance. Next time it happens, notice if the TX...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Khatsalano,

You should have just cut a hole in the top front of the battery compartment and stuck the 2100 3S in vertically. It minimizes changes to the battery bay, retains your landing gear...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

hunter, if it does not do that with the transmitter off, then it is more likely the TX. See what happens when you have the TX on and you push and hold the accessory button on top. If that cuts the...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

what does the RX freq. actually say? 26.995? HZ does sell some crystal sets in the 26-27mhz range for their model cars, so I'm wondering if they can be used? They don't specifiy the exact crystal...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Use a piece of 3M extreme tape about 1" wide across the front of the battery compartment and up the sides of the fuse. That is the only thing that worked for me. Gluing it always seemed to fail a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

you can go with a 3S Lipo of usually 2100mAhr in the Cub. You will have to cut a hole in the top of the battery cage though and re-arrange the receiver inside so that the Lipo goes in vertically...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I have bought a few different brands of NiMH packs for the cub including the Elites. Looking back on their performance, I think I would only buy the Elite 1500mAhr 8 cell packs now even though they...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Michael, if there is no apparent damage, then they will definitely not charge you. Grass stains don't count. What you describe is more of a performance issue than damage. HZ is pretty good with...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread
