i'm running a 66 tooth spur with a 15 tooth clutch bell. it wheelies some but only when i want it to. good top speed too. i race it this way.

+1 on the pull start option. much lighter, less stuff that can fail and you can easily carry a glow igniter in your pocket to re-start the engine anywhere it may die. better than carrying another...

if you race on pavement only when it's a dry day, this filter is probably pretty good. however most people don't run under those conditions all the time. i have no confidence in a paper type filter...

thanks for that info. well, if it works, that's certainly cheaper than buying the robinson racing gears. how does it effect the metal's malleability? does the metal become harder but more brittle?

i've never tried hardening a stock gear, but i can tell you that i destroyed a couple of them in my T-Maxx. that is until i upgraded to the robinson racing ones. they are expensive, but you'll never...
