i have a fibre glass cowl from a smith mini biplane that i used on mine.
it has been cut out for an os91 four stroke mounted sideways and was never flown.

i just checked the tower hobbies website and the measurements they show for the respective mufflers is quite different.

that 91fx muffler is huge.
i'm modifying a 4*60 by putting a smith miniplane biplane cowl on it, mounting the engine sideways. that's why i wanted to use the pitts style muffler.

will a pitts style muffler designed for an os61sf work on a 91fx?
the bolt pattern is the same but i'm concerned about the size of the exhaust chamber.

f91s thunder tiger carb on an 0s91 surpass

i recently dropped my os91fs into the ground. the motor survived but the carb body did not.
i read in one of the forums that the TT f91s carb was "better" than an os 91 carb.
can anyone verify...

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE, GUYS.
I'M NOT WILD ABOUT PUTTING A KNOT IN THE TUBING SO I WILL TRY THE WRAP AROUND IDEA AND I CAN SECURE THE THE TUBING GOING OUT TO THE PLANE WITH A CABLE TIE.

regrettably, i did not build it so i don't know what's inside.
it was built beautifully and covered with fabric. i know that is heavier than monocote.
i think that will add some weight....

do you think the weight differntial could be the cause.

i pulled the valve cover and forced down on the valve springs.
one went down easily, the other kind of stuck for a second but then released.
now the compression is back to normal.
valve clearance...
