RE: 4 stroke muffler ?

Works just fine. But before painting you need to clean the muffler. You can use automotive paint remover. I prefer fine glass bead blasting. After the bead blasting the muffler might look like new.

RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

MonoKote will stick to coating/laminating epoxy, if that's what you used with the fiberglass. Sure beats painting.

RE: Hovering next to yourself-AMA rules?

The AMA Safety Code has gotten a bit confusing in that there are now 2 safety lines. It was easier to understand when there was a FLIGHT LINE and a SAFETY ZONE.

AMA PDF File No. 706 shows a...

RE: What Does A Executive Vice President Do Exactly?

I'm also reminded of the word "Lacky". I find the about face EVP candidacy to be dumbfounding on one hand and revealing on the other.

RE: What Does A Executive Vice President Do Exactly?

Perhaps this will help. It's brief, but it's what I found.

RE: Robbe Whopper

That right roll is a prelude to disaser without a rapid left rudder. Dang, he was almost there.

Plastics supplier should have vinyl solvent. Sign makers that use rigid foam PVC sign board might...

RE: Robbe Whopper

What was the first flight like??? Did you have a head wind?

Your description of second flight is indication of just not enough head speed and a too-soon application of up cyclic &...

RE: Robbe Whopper

The damage looks more like hard landings rather than roll-over take-offs. Did she fly at all? Was it a hot humid day?

One thing: I know the Whopper flys using the original blades, but it's...

RE: Should AMA discontinue the Senior Citizen discount

Now there's an inspiring membership organization! I have an idea that some folks might like to take our AMA in that direction. I won't join AARP because I can't vote, or get a piece of the action.

RE: Paint over Monocoat?

Agree about steel wool! For a fine scuffing I've found that a new gray 3M pad can be too coarse. Better to use a new pad in the shower, scrub a few pots, to dull the sharp edges of the pad.

The...

RE: Paint over Monocoat?

I'm hoping to hear from someone that has applied paint of any type and was then faced with re-shrinking covering and paint. How'd that turn out? Does the applied paint shrink sufficiently with the...

RE: Paint over Monocoat?

I've always wondered, after painting over MonoKote, how does the painted MonoKote react if reheating is necessary? Either covering attached to sheeted, or open rib bays. Anyone have this experience?...

RE: Should AMA discontinue the Senior Citizen discount

I don't have a problem with the current membership support structure. I probably won't take the senior discount, or I might and then add a $10.00 contribution. I think it's a worthwhile...

RE: BLACK WIRE DISEASE in the RED WIRE

OOOH, nice connector. As to gold plating, I sometimes wonder if the plating might be the same as gold COLORED jewelry.

Thanks for reply.

RE: BLACK WIRE DISEASE in the RED WIRE

My positive wire gold plated pin connector had a lovely shade of green.

Another request from your knowledge base: I've always assumed gold pin connectors were GOLD PLATED. Is the plating really...

BLACK WIRE DISEASE in the RED WIRE

Today I discovered I'd left a battery pack, 4 cell NiCad, connected through a switch harness, in a model for the last ten years.
Wiring was Futaba. Expecting some sort of corrosion I disconnected...
