RE: Align Trex 550E

I'm very interested and excited about this.

I can add that Align has told me they will produce a flybar and FBL version of both the 550e and 700e.
Rumored release dates have the 700e coming...

RE: Strange servo glitching on Blade 400

Make sure the ESC and servo wires don't cross over the motor wires, could be interference.

RE: been away

ehirobo has the CopterX 450 AE V2 on sale for $60 plus $23 shipping.
For under $85 total you can't beat this heli.
I've had no problems with the tail or head, ie flanged o-ring collars.
I have...

RE: Two bolts on main shaft.... special steel or not?

Sounds like you need to level your swashplate and eliminate/reduce CCPM interactions.
The best way to do this is with a swashplate leveling tool, IMO.
Use the tool to level the swash at 1/2 stick...

RE: Blade 400 reciever question

+1
If you lose power any time after power up or reboot without cycling the tx off and on the rx light will blink.

RE: Blade 400 pitch and bind question?

Not exactly guys...

Collective pitch can be measured with the blades in any position.
The important thing is to have the flybar level, 90° to the main shaft, and to align the pitch gauge with...

RE: Can

+1
Higher headspeed also means better tail authority.
A tail that holds well makes it easier to learn and progress.

RE: Can

I think low headspeed in conjunction with pitch is not a good thing for the ESC and motor.
This equipment likes to run, and is most efficient, in it's power band around 80% throttle or higher.

RE: DX6i ISSUE : trim switch not responding

My trim switch stopped working in one direction.
I just opened the back of the tx, glued the arm back on the rocker switch with epoxy and its held for 100's of flights.

RE: new B400 wont flyESC?

Glad you found the problem.

You can only bind the rx to one model at a time, so to switch models you'd need to rebind each time.

One word of advice, be careful with the so called newbie...

RE: Set up for Idle Up (F. Mode 1) Blade 400

No worries.

After you check your pitch on the 0-25-50-75-100 Pitch curve if it's still off let me know what the pitch range is and I'll help you get what you want.

RE: Aluminum Tail Case

And remember, if your tail servo is in the stock location any time you adjust belt tension by moving the boom the pitch slider location will change effecting your tail setup.
That means you need to...

RE: Set up for Idle Up (F. Mode 1) Blade 400

Throttle Hold has it's own Pitch curve.
So, if you are checking the pitch with Throttle Hold engaged then you are using a Pitch curve of 35-42.5-50-75-100.
You need to check the pitch in Idle up...

RE: Silicon Tubing - Buffer O-ring substitute?????

Many people use fuel tubing for head dampeners.
Just don't use gummy silicone tube it needs to be harder almost like plastic but with some give.

If you use the correct tubing I've heard pilots...

RE: new B400 wont flyESC?

Make sure the belt is on the loose side but not slipping.
Check by holding the tail rotor and turning the main rotor by hand. It should bite with light to moderate pressure and then skip with more...

RE: Both stock...What's more powerfull Trex450 or Blade400?

The stock 25A ESC probably can't supply any more current.
If you had a 35A ESC you should notice a big difference.

RE: Both stock...What's more powerfull Trex450 or Blade400?

I have both.

The B400 (420H) with a 35A ESC is very close in power and rpm to the 430XL/35A ESC.
Of course a lot depends on pinion choice.

The 430XL is slightly more powerful, puts out a...

RE: Fibreglass Blades for Blade 400

You can find the Align 325 Pro wood blades at most heli vendors. I usually get mine from Helidirect or Heliproz.
They come in wht/blk, red/wht and blue/wht, all the same $13.

These blades are...

RE: Mainshafts

The stock curves in the Blade 400 manual you have are a good place to start.

IMO the stock Normal Throttle Curve is a little low but not horrible.
Pitch should always be linear from half to...

RE: Fibreglass Blades for Blade 400

My point is that FG blades are typically not very good flyers and are very strong.
So if you're still crashing they might cause more head parts to be damaged.

Align 325 Pro wood blades are...

RE: Fibreglass Blades for Blade 400

Any main blades made for the Trex 450 will need to be shimmed.

I never recommend FG blades, heavy and flexible.

Stick with Align 325 Pro woods, they will easily take you through basic 3D...
