RE: Tank newbie looking for help/recomendations

Thanks Panther G. I have looked through the forums but still wasn't sure about some things. Still not sure if the Panther at Raidentech is the Panther G or not. They have the $70 models that I...

RE: Tank newbie looking for help/recomendations

Sorry to interrupt, but any feedback on the possible tank choices listed a few posts up?

Anyway, my son and I have narrowed it down to the Pershing Snow Leopard, M41A3Bulldog and German Panther...

RE: Tank newbie looking for help/recomendations

I have plenty of extra NIMH batteries...old GP3300's that will work just fine, so the upgraded battery is not a concern as long as the tank has S&S and hopefully the metal motor. (I don't understand...

RE: Tank newbie looking for help/recomendations

Thanks guys. Do all the models that say "smoke and sound" come with the upgraded 2000mah battery and metal gearboxes?

RE: Tank newbie looking for help/recomendations

Hi everybody.
I am not new to RC (have nitro and electric trucks, build my own NIMH and A123 batteries) but I am new to tanks.
I am looking for a tank for my 6 year old son. From what I can see,...

RE: What is the fastest Traxxas Stampede motor as upgrade?

I am looking to go brushless myself, and I was surprised how much prices have come down on a fairly decent system. Several good reviews of the EZRUN systems by Hobbywing, and they are cheap. You...

RE: Soldering TRX connectors

I'd be careful about using that kind of flux. I was warned not to use any of the plumbing type flux on electrical connections because it contains acids that are bad for electrical connections. ...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Agreed. I like the curves as much as the next guy, but there are plenty of other web pages for that. This does not mean that I am against using one of the lovely females instead of that kid. ...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

you made perfect sense before, but the manual confirms what I thought you were saying. I'm not sure if it is off. I'll have to check that. Does it make that much difference? I'm still thinking it...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

To all those who replied to my trim issue it is not a matter of the length of the rod. It is the issue that after trimming the plane relatively straight in the air and then landing, the rudder is...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I think the drinking thing was misinterpreted. The drinking problem I have is that I have no time for it (drinking), which is the same problem I have with RC (no time). I do manage to go fly or run...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Thanks. Didn't get out today, but maybe tomorrow I will sneak a flight in. I'm always so hopeful that any given day could be one that I might have time to fly, then inevitably life gets in the way....

RE: Official Hobbyzone Firebird Phantom Thread!

the eBay ones went for more than I was willing to bid. They still went for cheap, but I wan't convinced they were what I needed. I figured if I got them for my low bid, then what the heck.

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Just to clarify, the rudder did go into spastic uncontrolled movement to the right. I checked the trim before flying and it was dead on straight. I had the antenna fully out and the plane was only...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Thanks Downunder. That's exactly what I was thinking. If it is interference at the other site, then problem is solved by going to a new site. Also, if the fuse is not usable now then another...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I just checked the HZ parts list. I have been calling it the wrong thing. It was the firewall that busted, the thing that the motor and gearbox attach to. You can buy them for a whopping $1.79. ...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Well, I just got done with the repairs. Packing tape and hot glue seems to have repaired the fuse and the wing. I took epoxy to the mount and we will let that set up for a day or two. I think it...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Also, make sure that your time is set perfectly as well, on your transmitter, as well on your plane. I made a big mistake by not checking that on my T-28 Trojan, and nearly nose dived like 10 times. ...

RE: 2 or 3 channel plane for very young flyer?

OK. Sounds like some good advice. I just wanted a plane that would react better than the Aero Ace jet. Maybe an Aero Ace Biplane or sportflyer or the mini xpv is the way to go. I think the bip...

RE: Official Hobbyzone Firebird Phantom Thread!

Does anybody know if the original Firebird and Firebird II are the same plane as the Phantom? I know the Firebird comes in several flavors now, but which is closest to these older versions?

RE: 2 or 3 channel plane for very young flyer?

I was actually looking at the older Firebird and Firebird II. A guy is selling some right now on eBay and thought I might be able to get them for cheap and have a decent beginner plane.
Is the...

RE: 2 or 3 channel plane for very young flyer?

How about a Slo-v or Slow-stick? These look like decent hobby grade stuff. Slow enough and stable enough so maybe a younger flier could handle them.

Has anybody tried to increase the wing...

RE: battery for Parkzone Corsair...

I have no experience with them, but many people over at RC groups seem to really like the Zippy's for their price and performance.
