I am currently resurrecting a couple of old CD58’s after a few years of neglect.
They all have quite a few hours on them and the gear noise is very evident.
In particular if turning over by hand...

RE: Robotics and FPV vendors at trade shows survey

Yes.

I work part time in a LHS and we are getting many many enquiries about multi copters, FPV, and the like.

RE: Glassing an ARF, any pitfalls

As was mentioned there are many resins to use, and I think you are referring to polyester resin, which does generate some heat, but is not the resin to use for this job.

A good epoxy resin or...

RE: Glassing an ARF, any pitfalls

I have done this to a number of ARF's and it is not a waste of time.
It adds strength, provides a more ding proof surface, and allows the use of paint, surface detail and weathering.

Weight is...

Thanks for the reply.
I am looking forward to the stage when I can order some more paint from you.

RE: Warbirdcolors - BACK IN BUSINESS!!

That's great news, am very glad you sorted out a new system.

One question, does the new formula contain restricted compounds that prevent posting to overseas as the old one did?

RE: VQ .60 Hurricane Retract mechs

The retract slots are a standard size and most mechanicals for that size bird will fit.

Spring Air IS a much better option, and they bolt right in, I have them in my VQ Hurricane.
I have about...

RE: WARBIRDCOLORS - Vendor announcement

That is bad news and good news at the same time.
I am glad to hear you are continuing the line, and as a sometime building and user of your product I am also, of course, a fan of your product.

RE: Cuttign carbon fiber plate for retracts

I am doing a lot of cutting of 1mm and 2mm carbon fibre sheet.
The band saw is the easiest, the scroll saw for smaller and curved cuts, and a Dremel wheel for the fiddly bits

RE: That nasty AT-6 Bounce

It sounds like a real scale AT6
Have you watched any training videos for the AT6?
Zeno's is a good place to start. I had exactly this problem although it would vary from the bounce, or a ground...

RE: New to FPV: Micro setup

I have been using RangeVideo for all my FPV gear for several years with very good success.
Good products, good service.
I have just set up a micro system on a Blade MQX which is fun, as well as...

RE: engine out with controllability with spoilers or up aileron only.

The P-61 uses a special type of flap known as the Zap Flap in the prototype.
They also used a spoileron in production models.
It does not operate from the trailing edge but is mid chord and...

RE: engine out on twin

I don't want to sound like I'm nit picking, but strictly speaking, an idling prop will produce more drag than the stationary ones.

Strange but true, I had to read the maths on it before I would...

RE: Head Tracker Does Not Work with Futaba T8FGS

I know this is probably an obvious question but you didn't mention it.

Are you holding the trainer switch on when you are testing?

RE: engine out on twin

Just think of all that drag on the dead motor side, and all the thrust on the other side.

That's why you don't turn into the dead motor, cause that's where the plane is wanting to go anyway.

RE: Down Elevater to fly level?

It's most likely an incidence problem, wing or tail, although the wing would probably be easier to adjust.

Had a Waco like that, flew well all it's life until I sold it, didn't see a reason to...

RE: The Usual Cooling Issue

The Sea Fury is a more recent build with the 61SP in it. Just enough power but good scale flight.

It took 3 goes at the baffle to get the right shape and get it close enough, although I could...

RE: The Usual Cooling Issue

Here is the Corsair setup.
The ABS cowl did not stand up well to the vibration over time, and the baffle was not as efficient as it should have been, due to it not being close or tight enough...

RE: The Usual Cooling Issue

Keeping the SP cool is a bit of an art form.

The exit ratio is from 2 to 3 times the inlet, and the SP's run hot, so you had better calculate on 3.

You might have to build in a funnel for...

RE: Camera Help/Advice Needed

You can be pretty sure it is DC, as the vast majority of these are, it would make no sense to require AC input.

If it is meant as a reversing camera then it is a safe bet that it is 12 volt.

Good advice.
The slight variance in tach readings you are seeing is probably a mixture of things, including the tach as described.

Twins setup in sidewinder mode do seem to also have some...

RE: vibration causing rpm loss?

A few more details would help, even a picture or two.
Are the engines mounted upright, inverted or what?
Position of tank?
On board glow?
props used?
Are they balanced?
Spinners?
Does...

Turns out that the JR only gives you access to the main 4 channels from...
