RE: DL-50 engine

Thanks for the info guys. Much appreciated. I kinda hate to buy the whole kit just for the screen but I guess it wouldn't hurt to do a complete redo.

RE: DL-50 engine

Does anyone know the Walbro carb number on the DL 50? I can't make out the number on my DL 50. I'm looking for a source for new screen filters. I think it will be easier and less time consuming to...

RE: DL-50 engine

If I were to install a KS canister on my DL50, would there be any performance difference between a front or a rear dump?

RE: DL-50 engine

The clunk should not touch the rear wall of the tank so it will be free to swing side to side.

RE: DL-50 engine

I guess you can get a bad anything at one time or another. A young fellow at our field just bought a new DL-55. Wouldn't start. Had a bad ignition module right out of the box.

RE: DL-50 engine

Seems as though the subject matter has changed quite a bit recently. IMHO perhaps we should get back to the DL-50/55 subject.

RE: DL-50 engine

Just picked up a couple of CM6 plugs from Advance Auto. I wanted to check the gap to make sure they were set .018-.020 but couldn't find my feeler gages. What to do. Discovered that a #11 hobby knife...

In reference to your comment about Amsoil, how in the world can you knock something that you have never tried and never will? I have used Amsoil Sabre for years and have never had a...

I don't really like to tell anyone what to do, but, I suggest following the break-in procedure that came with the engine or at least the break-in procedure shown on DLUSA.com which is a petroleum...

As I remember, the oil container had a built in measuring device where you squeezed the oil from the bottom up to this area on the top of the container. For a 32:1 mix, which is what I...

I used the Briggs & Stratton ashless for my break-in. Seems to have worked fine. After break-in I went to Amsoil Sabre at 80:1.

RE: DL-50 engine

I'm running a Vess 22B on my 30% YAK with a DL50. Best prop I've ever run. A flying buddy is turning a Vess 22C on his Yak with a DA50 and agrees with my thoughts.
