RE: PZIV ausfD project

Thanks Leggeron. I pretty much finished the weathering on this one. I didn't bother with the tracks because I'm planning on replacing them with metal ones soon. I'd like to add some accessories...

RE: SU-76i

I havn't seen the conversion kit offered anywhere in awhile, but I havn't been looking for it either. I got mine from KCLANK about a year ago. So I'm not really sure where you could find one. I got...

RE: Panzer III dilemma

"no new tanks this fiscal year" - You have more discipline than me. I was planning on doing my pz III in a North Africa scheme myself whenever I get to it. So that's what I would go with. But I'd...

RE: T-34/85 Winter version with DX5e

RE: Tim's Pershing....so far.

Nice looking tank Tim. I don't know why but I always seem to think American armor looks better with little to no weathering. I kinda like that factory fresh look. But I feel the opposite about German...

RE: Panzer III or IV

The metal wheels have no bearings, they are the same as the plastic ones in design. They are kinda pricely and true they offer no performance benifits. But I still think they are cool.

RE: PZIV ausfD project

Thanks Phil. I got the DBC installed and tested everything out. The aux muffler corroded for real while I was gone. It turned a

greenish color so that will have to be repainted. I don't think...

RE: p 4 stug Henglong

Very nicely done conversion. Not trying to count rivets or anything, but I was wondering if you had plans to add the driver's hatch and periscopes?

RE: P IV Smoke Dischargers

The ausf C or D was the first to carry smoke candles. Not sure about the C but the D carried them on the muffler. The ausf G featured a new simplified turret with smoke dischargers mounted on it....

RE: Panzer III/Stug III

I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure the stug IVs were just stug III superstructures mounted on PZIVs. They added some armor plate to the PZIV chassis to fill the gaps. It's more noticeable...

RE: Sturmgeschütz III

RE: Time for my first HL

I have a two PZIV's one with metal gears and one with out. If you want to run in grass all week I'd recommend atleast metal gearboxes. Moderate to rough grass seems to get caught in the running gear...

RE: Question about lathes

Thanks, for all the input. I think a 7x12 or 7x14 should be sufficent. I can't see needing to turn anything longer than a barrel. So from what I have read it seems that either the harbor frieght or...

RE: Tamiya Paint

I usually go about 1 part thinner 2-3 parts paint for airbrushing. I've never tried rubbing alchohol but it would diffently be cheaper. I'll have to try it out
