RE: Symptoms of a used up nitro engine??

I would check the clutch first. You only have 1 gallon through it.... that is about the time you should expect some normal wear. I've seen the shoes worn so bad that the spring was worn through...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Manitou,
Sounds like your gyro is fine. It is actually waiting for the change in position that you called for with the Tx input. This is why it's important to set up the gyro in standard rate...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Batteries:

Ah the battery question.

Seems all manufacturers "adjust" their batteries to get the output they want. Your best bet with the belt is to get a battery at least 195g in weight up...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

With some trimming I have made many 315-325 mm blades fit, the length of the blade grips is short on the Belt CPs, but take a bit off the end of the blade and you are golden. Reseal the covering if...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

soloboss

Your esc throttle range is not set.

Ps the two helis share Tx and Rx models, the only difference is what channel each is on. You are getting responses from Tx so this is no...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

cjennjr

the three wires from the motor should have brass bullet plugs on each one, about midway between motor and esc. They are covered by shrink tube.

If not present, you should install...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Hey guys,

Once your head is smooth look here for setup.

A lot of basic set up information for balancing, blade pitch, tail setup, and linkage setup is contained in the videos that I found...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

OH yeah, forgot to add

Spray the head with Silicon Lube occasionally, it will not react with the plastic, and dries well so it doesn't collect dust.

Use it on the Belt too!

It...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Hi everyone,

I have to recommend that ALL new Belt CP owners spend a couple hours with their new toy and disconnect the servo links.

Carefully work through each joint and pivot point and...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

The deans antennnas I have seen used on $10,000 carbon fiber bodied jets and ALL helis with great results, so I was surprised when my antenna pretty much eliminated my rx reception. Guess I know to...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Far as I know it's a Futaba copy. Anyone else heard different?

ps. I tried the WD40 in the transmitter. Sprayed the inside down, blew out the excess with a can of air from my computer...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

The dimensions should be within 1 mm of the old servos.

I start each mounting screw and pull them down together. The screws should seat nice and square as they pull down tight. Every brand is...

RE: Just bought Century Hawk Pro, need help with hardware!?

Hey there,
Just a comment on Gyros. I have an Esky Headlock gyro on a Belt CP.... It works great for basic flying and $38 shipped off EBay, you can't beat it. I gave up on standard gyros after a...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Hey Helismith,
The stock gyro does not look for a signal from the transmitter, it is only adjustable by the pot screw on top. I turned it up until the tail started wagging, then backed off until...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

HeliSmith,
Enjoy your Belt CP!...
They are pretty straight forward. If you can set up a heli, these are no different.
The gyro sucks! I fought with mine a few times and pitched it for the...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Pesty 351

As I recall, Futaba servo plugs have a "lip" on one side. It is a guide to help the end user plug them in the right way. Trim them off so that the plugs will fit in the receiver. ...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Pesty 351,
Be sure when you select a servo or servos, they are futaba or futaba copies. The jr, spektrum, and hitec all turn the opposite way. Since the collective is not reversible on the radio,...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

pesty351,
I had a similar twitch on my nephew's HBK2,
we checked the belt tension and thought it was ok.
Rotating the head by hand, every 5-10 turns there was a "snag" and sometimes it would...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

cwalls,

Try reversing the rudder channel on your Tx. The HH gyro operates in reverse of the rate gyro. Your heli is spinning uncontrollably, right? It is actually reacting in the wrong...

RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........

Helibru,

Sounds like a power transmission problem alright. Try confirming that there is no slipping between the tail rotor and the main. i.e. hold the tail while turning the head or main gear....

I traced it to two things:
1. the control arms just above the swash plate. The small hinged ones. Part number EK1-0520... One of the small pins that they pivot...
