While this engine isn’t snake oil, I’ve never heard of anybody getting even close to the OP’s tach numbers. Has anybody gotten close to 13k rpm on an 11/6 APC? I think most are lucky to get 12k. ...

RE: Anybody interested in a NEW YS shortstroke? New, as in produced this year...

I'm just hoping that the success of this run will cause YS to rethink production of other 2-cycle engines, like a side exhaust version of this engine, and maybe the 45's too. Or even better, update...

RE: Scoop! Hangar 9 Phoenix 7...ARF!!!

Well I guess it begs the obvious question, was the high fuel tank a problem with the original P-7? If so, what was the solution back then? Were pumped 61's common at the time of the P-7? I didn't...

RE: Scoop! Hangar 9 Phoenix 7...ARF!!!

Hmmm....haven't even opened mine yet, but is there any reason the engine couldn't be mounted upright? It might solve the high fuel tank problem. and certainly upright engines are easier to work on,...

RE: Club Enya

I was checking out an Enya 50 CX, but I don't know Enyas all that well. Is it a screamer or torquer type of engine? What use is it best suited for?

New Zenoahs?

Anybody else see the new EI Zenoahs coming on Horizon's site? Please ignore if this is old news. New EI versions across the board except for G-45. New ignitions using less current, can use 4.8v up...

RE: E85 in the OS Bio-Ethanol engines

I have no idea if the OS's work well or not, just thought they might be usable with E85 since they are set up to run ethanol. Not as ideal as running gas like the Enya, but E85 is readily available...

RE: E85 in the OS Bio-Ethanol engines

The engines are not $1100. On the other auction site now, the 75ax is 319.99 and the 120ax is 369.99. I'm sure the 55ax will be even less. I cannot speak to the oil. I can't fathom what sort of...

E85 in the OS Bio-Ethanol engines

Has anybody given any thought to running E85 in one of those OS Bio-Ethanol engines? I know they were only "released" in Japan, but with the internet, they are not hard to buy. I am almost tempted...

RE: What is with Marketplace engine prices?

I had kept this confidential, but since I have been called out, yes, those were the new engines in question, I'll leave the used engine seller out of this. I don't know where dasquirrelisme saw one...

RE: Will YS ever go gas/petrol?

Ok, it seems I need to respond to a few comments. I don't ask YS or Rich for one simple reason, they won't tell you. PERIOD! If YS had a working gas engine coming soon, with the necessary cajones,...

What is with Marketplace engine prices?

I think people must have some emotional attachment to the items they are selling, or are just delusional. Mostly I have been looking at glow engines, it is ridiculous, no wonder most never sell, the...

RE: Will YS ever go gas/petrol?

As the original poster, maybe I need to clarify. I hate electric. It has no soul, and doesn't interest me in the least. I fly for fun, as I will never be Andrew Jesky, and I suspect there are a...

RE: Will YS ever go gas/petrol?

Very interesting. I think I must have underestimated just how much power is produced by a CDI YS, and the technical difficulties in making a supercharged 4-stroke gas engine. I still think this...

Will YS ever go gas/petrol?

Is there any movement inside YS to get into gas/petrol? I know the old style YS motors wouldn't work due to all the silicone parts, but I think the direct injection setup could be made to work for...

MVVS 40 power

What sort of RPM could I expect from a typical MVVS 40 using 0% or 5 % nitro, the 3248 mini pipe and an APC 10x6 prop? I have an upcoming project that I think the MVVS 40 would be suitable for, but...

RE: Jett Stream for OS 55AX

Bob,

This setup is for a H9 Phoenix 7. Perhaps traditional, but an 11X7 works very well for this airplane, and most vintage pattern planes from the 70's. I probably should try a full tuned...

Jett Stream for OS 55AX

I can't remember where I heard this, but I think I heard that there are different sizes of Jett Stream mufflers based on the rpm and load. In my case, I want to run an APC 11X7 on an OS 55AX, does...

I've been away from flying for about 6 years now, and upon my return, nothing jazzed me more than seeing this plane offered. Unfortunately, neither of my local fields would be good for using...

Did MVVS dump Morris Hobbies?

I see that Morris Hobbies no longer lists any complete engines from MVVS. Did they finally dump Morris as the US distributor? Nothing like high prices and poor service to kill off sales in the...
