funny that you should mention going into the barn. i ended up retiering my swift after this summer since my ni-mh batters were getting pretty weak, so i gave it a well deserved send-off.....directly...

the main advantage of adding that 5th cell is for extended flight time at 1/2 power.  also gives a bit more power to over come the drag from flying floats.

yes, with a knife. it sounds like you want to try to get the receiver board out, best way of doing that is to un-hook the tail control surfaces, then under the fuse is a couple screws that hold...

back to the apprentice, spare lipo's are not to expensive if you know where to get them. i get all mine from hobbycity.com. the rhino's and zipph-h's are great.

the mustang has flaps, they come with 3 preset positions that you adjust manualy while learning to fly, but a couple servor's from your crashed plane can be added to make them functional flaps. also...

if i were you, i'd go with a 4-channel. something like the parkzone trojan or corsair are both excelent choices.

i had to swap mine out ounce, what i did was i disconected the tair wires so they will move freely, then i took a couple pairs of pliers to pry loost the connector on the tail wire so i can get...

the wing tube is straight. a gust of wind took mine off of the starting bench and bent my tube, i replaced with a wooden dowel that was close to same size as the tube and wraped some masing tape...
