RE: Nitro Planes Catalina Water Leaks

OK, I believe it. I obviously applied too heavy a coat. But I'm not sure I'd try it again. Maybe on this foam after I wreck the PBY.

RE: Our Member has Cancer

Thanks to all who replied with their good thoughts and prayers. And also, I think, to the many who sent a prayer or two our way without posting here. We need all the help we can get!!

Not good news, one of our members here in south Oregon is undergoing cancer treatments. Radiation and chemo therapy. He is hurting pretty badly and needs, I believe, all the support...

RE: Nitro Planes Catalina Water Leaks

NOT!!!

Hinge glue seemed to seal the seam. I then checked TF Clear Coat on a foam wing from a downed Trojan T28. OK, no foam damage, so I sprayed a little clear on the bottom of the PBY hull....

Nitro Planes Catalina Water Leaks

Has anyone found a way to seal the fuselage of the Nitro Planes Catalina against water leaks? We've tried paint, silicone, tape, etc. but without success. After one take-off and landing (two...

RE: What Motor Mount?

Thanks again, tIANci, those links are helpful.

One of the devices is for a non-square stick and won't fit my GWS slow stick. The Trans Data device looks good but I can't find a way to buy it...

RE: What Motor Mount?

Well, thank you, tIANci!! It won't be totally clear to me until I get my hands on an actual gear box housing and fit it up to the motor. The LHS doesn't open for another hour.

The links didn't...

RE: Hobby King HK-T4A Transmitter

Right on, jcccc. That's our plan now, because I'm not smart enough to make the HK transmitter work as a buddy box.

Then when the student has soloed and got his wings, we'll replace the futaba...

RE: Hobby King HK-T4A Transmitter

Thanks for the reply,jccc.

Actually our club bought three of the HK transmitters, but I can't find a way to use them in the buddy box mode. No "trainer" switch, therefore no way that I know of...

RE: Does Thin CA Work With Plywood?

OK, I did it. With it lined up straight and square I applied Elmers carpenters glue to what horizontal joints I could reach. I used the Monojet syringe I saw Minnflyer use in one of his videos. ...

RE: Does Thin CA Work With Plywood?

Good for you, outdoorhunting. Sounds like a really great relationship! We've only got about 35 years behind us in our house and I have gotten away with a lot in the way of hobbies. I could...

RE: Does Thin CA Work With Plywood?

It wouldn't work outdoorhunting. She knows that no one, not even Joe, would let me fly his airplane :) :).

RE: Does Thin CA Work With Plywood?

Hi PB66

Interesting thought. I guess I built my Tiger 2 according to the plans without mods. It's still hanging in my shop, unscathed, because my wife won't let me fly it after totaling the...

RE: Does Thin CA Work With Plywood?

Thanks for the heads up, Mike. I hope I got it right after that guidance. It's now partly glued, still lined up on the plan drawing, hopefully enough to keep it straight when I turn it over...

RE: Does Thin CA Work With Plywood?

Thanks Mike and iflyg450. I'm about to start glueing the fuselage of my CG Tiger 60. The manual says to assemble the parts with rubber bands, then glue it when everything is adequately lined up. I...

Yeah, you're right, Bill. I got careless again. They were actually about .005 inches oversize. Thanks for the correction!

RE: Servo Connectors Don't Fit the RX

Hi Victor

Friend Jack and I each have one, but we haven't flown either one yet. You've probably read http://www.nitroplanes.com/new204chkara.htmlTHIS (guess I don't know how to post a link!). ...

RE: Servo Connectors Don't Fit the RX

Thanks, All!

I guess you've figured it out. The plane is a RTF and I don't see the word Futaba anywhere. I assumed that because the TX appears identical to the Futaba SkySport. It and the RX...

Servo Connectors Don't Fit the RX

I thought it was standardized now!

The radio system in my NitroPlanes Catalina is still so screwed up that I tried to use my RDS8000 system spare RX in it. The PBY came with a SkySport 4 TX,...
