RE: More New Bright Ski-Doo Snowmobile Hop-Ups

Basically what I did is took an associated stealth transmission from a T4 truck and modified it to drive the hex shaft. This required milling new half shafts on a steel lathe and fastening them to...

RE: R/C SNOW BUGGY

Looks cool. Have you run it? I'd be very concerned with it tipping over over knowing how tippy RC snowmobiles are with a lot more weight and a lower center of gravity. A duct around that prop...

RE: More New Bright Ski-Doo Snowmobile Hop-Ups

You mean the wear bars or the skis themselves? The skis are stock, but I welded up the custom wear bars. I could probably make you a set but you'd need to send me the skis and pay me a bit for the...

RE: RCRG

It's been over 15 years since I have played with rockets, but I used to have a ton of fun with them. I do recall at the time someone sold an RC glider which was shot off like a rocket and then flown...

RE: More New Bright Ski-Doo Snowmobile Hop-Ups

Part 4: In order to provide better turning power, and to avoid wearing the bottom of the skis out (I was almost there), I fabicated wear bars out of 1/8" stainless steel rod. I bent the rod to...

RE: More New Bright Ski-Doo Snowmobile Hop-Ups

Part 3: The front suspension on these sleds is all for looks out of the box. It has little functionality, and the steering is super sloppy. To deal with this I overhauled the whole setup, starting...

RE: More New Bright Ski-Doo Snowmobile Hop-Ups

Part 2: To improve handling I had originally upgraded the rear suspension to oil filled shocks from a Duratrax Evader. I was not happy with the syspension geometry, so I milled adjustable plates...

More New Bright Ski-Doo Snowmobile Hop-Ups

Hi guys,

I figured I'd start a new thread because the old ones have gotten pretty long and cluttered with discussion. They're also a couple of years old.

Anyway, for those of you who...

RE: SkiDoo Snowmobile (let the mods begin)

Hey guys,

It's been awhile since I've posted about my New Bright, but I pulled it out this week and am getting it back into shape. Some of you might remember that I went with a belt drive Check...

RE: TAKING OFF THE TURN FIN

Haven't tried it, but I wouldn't think the results would be too positive. Without a Turn Fin that boat is going to be pretty unstable and unpredictable. I did however unknowing bend my rudder back...

RE: no muffler

I know nothing about airboats, but you won't get a nitro to run well (if at all) without a muffler. The engine needs some back pressure in order to operate correctly, as well as needing pressure to...

RE: Cat vs. Deep V

Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking into the Enforcer lineup over at Whobbies. I do have a couple other questions. Whats the quietest exhaust system? One of my complaints with the miss bud is...

RE: Hobbico's NEW gas boat 54" 24cc w/tuned pipe

Easiest way is to back out the idle screw and set idle with the TX. Then when you go to the reverse side of the throttle, the throttle bore closes off and the engine dies.

Cat vs. Deep V

Hi guys,

After years of sticking to the ground and the sky with my RC interests, I've recently gotten back into R/C boating. I picked up a 1/12 Miss Bud which I modded up for convenience and...

Monokote color for World Models Clipped Wing Cub

Hey all. I have a World Model Clipped Wing cub (Blue + White) that I need to replace a bit of the blue covering on. I don't have a LHS close by that sells a lot of airplane stuff, so I will need to...

RE: Will A 19t Motor Kill My 20 Turn ESC?

Shouldn't bother it too much. It just might trip the thermal protection on occasion. No harm done. I ran a 16T for a long time on an 18T rated LRP Runner plus reverse. No problems, never even...

RE: Snowmobile Hop ups?

Hello all, sorry I haven't been on in forever to reply to some of the questions.

MNKay... crazy setup, but I wouldn't touch it! Nitro is fun, but decent electric parts can match it for...

RE: Beginner to on-road - ntc3 rtr+?

I have the rtr+ and am very happy with it. Unless you plan to race very competitively the rtr+ chassis is a very much up to the challenge. For me, I probably should have got the kit because I ended...

RE: TC3 Brake Adjustment

WGS 2052,

On the NTC3 you have 2 adjustment nuts on the brake shaft, and a spring between the brake cam arm and the first nut. What I do is turn on the radio and reciever and hit full reverse...

RE: Snowmobile Hop ups?

Hi Derric,

Without examining that model closely, it's imposible to say what you would need. Take a look at the motor size, and whether you can swap the motor's pinion gear onto a different one....

RE: Snowmobile Hop ups?

Sounds cool.

My biggest priority was getting the steering and electrical systems working right, which meant a conversion from 19.2 to 7.2 volts. The steering servo I put in fit perfect with...

RE: Snowmobile Hop ups?

A few notes. The toughest part was mounting the spur pulley to the hex shaped jackshaft that drives the track pulleys. I basically destroyed the stock gears to do it, including lathing down the...
