RE: Fly Zone Micro Fokker DR-1 Triplane

Flew mine for the 1st time today, wish I had found this thread first. Didn't have enough down trim and fought it at anything above 1/3 throttle, but flies nicely at less than 1/2 to 3/8 power.

RE: OS .25FP Any good???

The o.S. 25 FP is a great match for the Sterling Ringmaster, Yak-9 and P-51. Smoother running than a Fox .35, and starts easily and consistently.
I have used this engine with good results on...

RE: What would you do if you became a millionare

I'd just keep building, flying and crashing model planes until it was all gone!

Oh yeah- and ask my wife to increase my allowance - I'd turn the $$ over to her willingly instead of paying...

RE: gws gm tissue

I recently recovered an S-1 Ringmaster with it. I couldn't get any BalsaRite or BalsaLoc locally, so I stuck it down with Ambroid / Sigment type glue, pulling it as taught as I could. Then after it...

RE: Fox stunt .40 - anyone used one?

Try this link and see if this is the 40 you have, there are also reviews for a couple other of Duke's .40 CL engines on this site.

RE: E-starter Assembly?

From the picture it looks like you are trying to fit the cowl on upside down. The flat portion at the rear goes up and the curved lower portion is at the bottom, and forms an air exit to match the...

RE: Feeling retro! Anyone for a hollowed log?

Walt published a book titled "Building and Flying Scale Model Airplanes" that contains reduced size plans for some of his kits. The built up wing F-82 Twin Mustang is in there, a couple other...

RE: A couple of control line questions

So did you ever get the kids some handle time with the Cox planes? FYI - you can make a simple sheet balsa profile 1/2A for about 10 bucks. 24-30 inch X 3" wide wing from 3/16" sheet sanded to an...

RE: Engine for Ringmaster

I have a Ringmaster with an OS FP 25 on it, my buddy flies his with an older Fox .25 (4 bolt backplate). Both fly very nicely on 60' X .018. You can use .015 on the .25 powered ships but our flying...

RE: New to U/C

One thing you may want to try is subsituting "Spyderwire" fishing line for the usual dacron flying lines. It has a smoother finish, and is stronger and doesn't stretch. Your planes will fly better...

RE: TURBINES ARE RUINING AVIATION

I think you have that backwards, MD was bought by Boeing, thus the "Boeing 717" instead of the MD95. The money maker for Boeing in the deal was getting the Delta rocket line and MDs expertise in...

RE: Old Engines For Sale

Hi Bruce,

Looking at the picture the larger one appears to have an angled plug, and the smaller one has a bolt on venturi. That rules out the .35 Stunt, and little brother .19 Stunt. The small...

RE: Engine for Sterling Ringmaster Jr. ??

I,ve got a much used Ring Jr. that currently flies on a Fox .15 Schneurle, 52'X.012 lines and an 8X4 prop. Pretty fast bust good for sport flying, just loops, lazy 8s, wingovers and low inverted (...

RE: What is it?

Early Model COX P-40, as evidenced by the inverted engine. I got $50 for one a few years ago, and it was in worse shape than yours. Clean it up and hang it from the ceiling, they look better than...

RE: Night Flying?

I remember flying after dark as a kid with Cox PT-19s. The one street light in the cul-d-sac we flew in lit the ground up a bit, and the orange glow from the exhaust let you see the plane. Problem...

RE: enya .09 needs a plane

A Sig Akromaster or a Ringmaster Jr. will both fly fairly well on .09 power. This is the low end of the recommended range, but if you build light and straight they will give you a good basic stunt...

RE: Smaller battery pack

RE: li'l wizard

Just a couple things, balance at the front leadout, that is close enough for basic flight.

1. Norvel has probably twice the power of the Cox Baby Bee the plane was designed for. Also the overall...

RE: Super Ringmaster question.

I've seen reports of other old models falling apart. The culprit seems to be the Ambroid/ Sigment type acetate glues. They get brittle after a while and eventually crumble into dust. You can...

RE: The PT-19 has arrived!!!, now I need help!

A couple of suggestions on lines.

1. Set the plane up so you can unhook the line from the airplane. You can do this by making "leadouts" - short lines from the bellcrank through the wingtip and...
