RE: flyzone diablo

I haven''t been out with the Diablo since the upgraded motor shaft broke, and I''ve been slow to fix since I have the Yardbird Mig-29. I bought the DX6i and I love it.

Well yesterday I put the...

RE: flyzone diablo

I think there is a lot of 'value' in this plane. To get the entire package for anywhere between $100 and $200 is not that bad. Compare: I also bought the Yardbird MIG 29. It was too hard for me to...

RE: FMS for thrust-vector jet?

Duhhhhh, I posted that when I was at work.....err....not at home. Now I checked my links at home and saw it was the top model on your page. I cannot tell you how HAPPY I am. THANKYOU a million...

FMS for thrust-vector jet?

Any idea where I could find a FMS model to help me learn to fly this? http://yardbirdrc.com/Mig%2029.htm

I'm rather new to this and not aware of any. Thanks.

RE: flyzone diablo

Animal acker, you'll be fine with the 1500mha; I have flown the original 1500, a quality 1650, and cheapo-chinese 2200mHa. All worked fine.

Interestingly enough, in an unscientific manner, I...

RE: flyzone diablo

I flew through a few batteries with the new brushless reattached (after the whole hyperflow was spinning in the pod). This time with the pod on top, and as everyone is saying, it worked just fine. ...

RE: flyzone diablo

I've had troubles with the upgrade , I figured it out eventually, the motor was not spinning in the mount; the entire HyperFlow was spinning; not enough glue for the upgrade! I hope I used enough...

RE: flyzone diablo

BRUSHLESS UPGRADE: WOW! I put in a 4850kv el-cheapo form hobbycity ($16) and 30amp ESC ($9.75). It sounded so amazing, felt so powerful, I figured something would go wrong. It did.

When...

RE: flyzone diablo

northchim, thanks for posting your first flight video. That's sort of what mine did. We have seen may other videos but they are about successful flights. The ones that go poorly are much more...

RE: flyzone diablo

Yes wiliy will, in your first post ever on this forum you reiterated what I have been preaching.....don't add weight to the Diablo, move it forward. I'm glad you like the plane so far, should be...

RE: diablo junk

Animal, what you say is basically true, it's not a blazing fast plane. And the dual pod sounds heavy and may not be an 'upgrade' at all. I went flying at lunch the other day and turns out I forgot...

RE: flyzone diablo

I dislike that we are using two fourms, so I will try to start a trend and use this one; it has more posts.

Northchim has had the most extreme mod yet, and I can't wait to see how it affects...

First DLG, with caveats....

Sorry for the redundant post, but then again go read something else if you don't want to help! I have flown 2 RTF's, a complete beginner and a beginner EDF jet, but nothing seems cooler than DLG's! ...

RE: flyzone diablo

Idealhobbies said it well but I'll be like a parrot and say it again.... Capepilot, you bring up valid points, and maybe there is no such thing as a beginner jet? The Hyperflow design is...

RE: flyzone diablo

oh ideal, you're my new hero, SPOONS!!?? awesome! we are all wasting our time on this plane, having lots of fun, and being ingenious. I have only used parts of kites, other planes, cardboard, and...

RE: flyzone diablo

I looked at that one too, but "out of stock". I can't take the unknown wait time! I've been waiting on a DX6I Spektrum too long, so what I did order was IN STOCK and it's still going to take a...

RE: flyzone diablo

Yes, $35 for both with shipping, very cheap, isn't it! Well, it's coming from China, on the slow boat. It will be weeks before I see it, but I just can't afford the $80 from LHS, if they even had...

RE: flyzone diablo

I don't know much at all, but from looking at the Hyperflow website, you get a good bit more punch. Really rough numbers, but looks like %90 more power, %45 more thrust, and %25 greater efflux...

RE: flyzone diablo

Mine glitches as well, but only once has it caused a crash.

Northtrim, loved the video. Exactly what my first flight was like, before I got the weight forward.

I wouldn't cut the wing...

RE: flyzone diablo

I think my nose has 6 lateral glus seams.... don't need as much weight in the nose anymore. My news for the day is that after one landing/crash one of the beginner wing tips fell off. What a...

RE: flyzone diablo

Crashed again, oddly it was because it was flying so well. with out the deflector I felt it had a little more speed and all the loops were solid with no stall at the top. I tried one from about...

Oh ideal, you're tempting me to upgrade! I have got some 2200 lipos and can't wait to try them.

bliss, or others who say the plane is slow, I agree it is no Stryker, but it is a "trainer" jet. have you seen the video form flyzone? Does yours fly like that and you're calling that slow or does...

RE: flyzone diablo

I'm really glad you guys are persuing the improvement of this plane. I wanted to say STOP! spend you money on something better, but the truth is you're getting very good tinkering skills and if all...
