with a bit of work a H/L tiger can look and be just as good as a Tamiya tank, but for anyone with a limited budget you can upgrade the H/L tank as and when your budget allows and you don't have to...

i used my pyrogravure its an electric hot needle, or you can use a needle in a scalpel handle, glue on strips of plastic rod where the weld seams would be then heat up the needle tip and press it...

cheers soulassassin much appreciated mate, if you cant get any tamiya desert yellow the dark yellow is OK but to take out the green tint put in a bit of flesh that works fine,l, as for the green...

what i did was using a razor saw cut off the fuel filler cap sand down the edges a bit then re-glue it back on.........

tamiya desert yellow is a pretty good color to use, i have tried it on some of my 1/35 and 1/16 tanks.............

it depends on how heavy you want it, i like a fine weathering with a bit of paint damage, first seal everything in with several coats of floor polish then a good wash around all the raised detail...

thanks for the comments guys, done a bit more on the tiger and am happy with it so far, i thought i would start the metal upgrades on my H/L tiger at the same time and boy is there some weight in it...

the main problem is here its not sloped in-wards enough, this is so the standard H/L gear box will fit, it looks more like the slope on the tiger.

thats the running gear sorted and a couple of coats of Johnson's klear floor polish applied, note how much the paint has darkened down, and i remounted the spare tracks and the cupola mg.
